And Buffalo's trade chips (Peterka, Byram, 1st round pick) suggest they could trade for a much younger dman with control and/or term.

Anderson fits in better with a team who is a contender.

The crazy part is that on paper, Buffalo is an top RD and LW away from being a contender, with no anchor contracts and flush with cap.

Buffalo on paper has been pretty decent for a while, though a bit green on defence. The entire culture there seems rotten, and much like the Flames for a while, suffered under poor coaching hires.

I expect most, if not all of the Canadian teams are on his list just like most players with modified NMCs. Ottawa was already rumoured to be on his list not that long ago.

I believe Anthony DiMarco of Dailyfaceoff reported back in May that Ottawa was on Andersson's no trade list. No clue if that has changed or not.

I’ve been told draft all along, and I trust my source so I’m sticking with that.
With that said, the Flames want the best return so if that means waiting then I guess we could see it go into the summer.

But given what the Flames want to do at the draft, it makes more sense to move Rasmus if it’s for picks etc.

Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Buffalo, Detroit, Seattle.

I don't know why he'd bother putting Edmonton on a list, I think he'd be OK with either Anaheim or Chicago.

Yeah generally any “x team trade list” with the Flames is really an “x+1 team trade list” as you can pretty safely assume you won’t ever be traded to the Oilers.

I think it would be a pretty safe gamble to not put Edmonton on his list and choose 6 other teams. Edmonton doesn't have what Calgary would want and not likely they would trade him there anyways.

I don't think they should be in a huge hurry, but they need to do it before the season starts. You don't want to get into a situation where the team is overachieving making it more difficult to make the decision or disappointing to the rest of the team to trade him. It's easier and typically convenient at the draft because all the GM are at the same place and in the mood to make moves, but I wonder if that changes this year with the draft being decentralized.
