It doesn't work that way - no one GUARANTEES anything.
GMs look at players on expectation, and they can very confidently write down Andersson as a 40 pt guy. Whether he ends up with 35, or 50, is a function of how the season plays out for the player and the team. But the EXPECTATION is black and white.

I wasn’t aware that is what we were talking about. While a flawed statistic, plus/minus has never been touted as a measure of defensive ability. The greatest plus/minus in the history of the game was posted by Bobby Orr, and not because he was the greatest defensive defenseman of all time. You get a plus when your team scores.
Anyway minus 38 doesn’t help the trade value for Rasmus and reflects that he had a sub par year for him. It doesn’t tell the whole story of course and it’s pretty obvious he will be highly coveted.
To answer your question, certainly Rasmus is better defensively than Bouchard.

I previously heard he wouldn’t be back but it sounds like they’re trying to 3peat in Florida.

I trust you as a source but don't believe the bolded part. That entire organization has been live streaming their bender for the last 4 days lol. They aren't working on anything right now!

Makes you wonder if the silence from our insiders means something is close to happening and they’ve been told to clam up. Will happen later today when I’m driving to Lions game I’m sure.

I don't believe players are actually part of negotiations for the most part.

Yeah, I know. They've probably had some initial discussions prior as well. Was more just joking based on the videos I've been seeing over the week.

Ekblad has talked all playoffs he wants to stay. They have a legit shot at doing something special and 3peating.

Sorry Rasmus but it’s time for the Flames to move on. Hoping we can perhaps find a team willing to move picks in one of the next 2 drafts, we’ve stocked enough for the upcoming draft as is.

It's one thing to say 8 more years, I'm not ****ing leaving, etc when you're all drunk on both alcohol & euphoria from the win but Zito has to make the money actually work. When those guys look at the paycuts they have to take from their market rate they will probably have second thoughts. Not like Florida is the first team to end up in a cap crunch with important pieces from a cup win

The Sabres could be a strong trade partner, as they’re thin right-handed defensive group might push them to pay a premium for a quality RHD.

Sorry, its not Ekblad himself talking but more so his agent(s) that are doing the talking.
I do get how what I said could come across as him personally talking.
Looks like there's more rumblings coming out hearing the same.
I think its very conceivable we see Bennett, Ekblad and Marchand all sign in Florida.

The problem is that the two teams don't match up particularly well.
Anderson likely doesn't waive for Buffalo, nor sign an extension there.
And Buffalo's trade chips (Peterka, Byram, 1st round pick) suggest they could trade for a much younger dman with control and/or term.
Anderson fits in better with a team who is a contender.

Oh I know, was just joking around about the panthers being drunk right now. Also wasn't actually doubting what you were told - I appreciate all the good info you provide us!
I also have a strong feeling they all re-sign, I think they have a legit shot at a 3peat.

All around but looks capable of playing stay at home. I was impressed by his defensive poised.

+/- might be the most flawed stat in the NHL. I skip over any discussion that takes it even remotely seriously.

A roster player and a B prospect.
That's what I think Conroy gets for Andersson.

Huberdeau also expected to stay in Florida and Zito told him after the playoffs that they would be reaching out to discuss a contract extension before he was traded. GMs say what they need to at the time.
