You don’t sign 7 goal scorers who suck at everything to flip lol.
Most teams add 3rd and 2nd liners. I guess while Treliving is a gm you have some hope

Kindel would be a fantastic pick at 18 in my opinion and I see lots of upside. If we get him at 32, even better. My non professional opinion is teams will be proven wrong for not picking him earlier.

Kindel
Reschny
Cootes
In that order for me please. Would love to get two of them.

It would be nice to have the toughness attached to a better player, but that would probably cost you assets.
Can't just have a bunch of wimpy nerds out there though.

I think you are really underrating Cootes talent.

The game is faster and that's a fact. Moving the puck faster is a bigger deal. The Panthers moved the puck so quickly with hard passes that the fastest guy in the league couldn't keep up. Structure can beat speed. Tkachuk has heavy Boots but knows the game.

He will definitely be looking for a multi-year deal. I think he'll get at least 2 or 3 years if it's a reasonable AAV. He's not a useless player and he'll be getting offers and some team will bend on term. It's not a situation where he had a bad year and some team wants to rebuild a distressed asset for a pump and dump.

You don't trade a full mitt of draft picks for Tanner jeannot either, but this is the world we live in so...there's that whole thing about absolutes.

No one is going to move a draft class for him. He had a flujeb year and Tampa tried to find the next Coleman and made a massive mistake.

Cootes is interesting in that I don't think he had linemates that were that skilled to put up more points.
But once he got to the U-18 he looked like the best player on a team that included Reschny, and Kindel.
I think there is more offensive upside there.
I'm hoping for one of Reschny or Cootes at 18 and then Kindel at 32

Per 32 thoughts, significant interest in Rasmus… Conroy gets to play hard ball. Ekblad signing an extension would help even more.

All signs point to this being the case.
We could end up having the best RD available, and at a premium.
The only "negative" is that his value is exponentially better if he extends, so finding a team he's willing to do that with is key.
I don't think thats Buffalo.

I do wonder if Dahlin would try to recruit him, that's the only way I think he might extend there.

It’s also one of those situations where Buffalo is so desperate to change their culture, do they take a chance with Andersson without an extension and try and sway him during the season with Dahlin and if they can’t extend him, then flip him at the deadline?
Buffalo I think would also be one of the teams that would overspend ($$) on Andersson in an effort to change their culture.
…I mean, the Sabres have to do something.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Columbus do the same, and with the Monahan connection, it could be a good fit. 14th overall for Andersson, who says no?

Would Utah want Andersson? We could add to get 4th, then send that to San Jose and 18th to get 2nd?

Flames could use another defensive LH shot dman and have too many wingers.
Samuelsson fell out of favour in Buffalo last year and they have too many LH dmen
Sabres probably wouldn't mind getting a guy who is from the area (they like their local kids) and does have 20 goal and 40 point pedigree.
|
That's a good catch, and an interesting one. I'm not too sold on either player, but outside of the extra years on Samuelesson it seems like a fair idea. Especially since Power, Dahlin, and Byram all prefer to play LD.
