Definitely read the title as "Brent" and was pretty disappointed.
Happy for Brett!

Good for him. Seems to have paid his dues as a player. Guessing he was a good leader as he served as captain.

I'm old but not that old but has there ever been a father-son to be a head coach in the NHL? If Brett ever gets a shot with the Flames I'm pretty positive they would be the first to coach the same team.

That was probably due more to guys like Cooley predictably cooling off after an amazing start.

I wonder if they just weren’t happy with the results under Cirella. I’m just glad we don’t have to listen to Joe on Flames talk. He was painful to listen to.

This is the guy who sucker punched an innocent cabbie in 2010 while drunk. Classy move, Flames. Just the type of guy we want coaching the next generation.

Pleaded guilty, paid restitution, suffered a trade because of it.

He owned the situation completely:

Yes, that's the kind of person I want coaching our minor league team. He can suck punch an innocent civilian, but that's okay because he said sorry.

He did more than say sorry. He owned up right away, paid his penalty, got punished by the team.

That was 15 years ago. When he was 23. Hasn't been in trouble since. Maybe he learned seomthing from it that he can pass on.

Good for him. Feels like there's a been a Sutter in the org in some capacity for almost my entire life as a Flames fan, good to see the tradition continue!

Glad all of us have never been down or made a mistake in their lives or struggled.

There are things in my mind that you don't get to come back from, domestic violence/sexual assault towards women/children, murder etc. You don't get to come back from something like that. I'm still to this day miffed at how Kobe Bryant is still praised/remembered.

This guy was probably at a low point in his life, if he was truly sorry, paid the price and hopefully made amends with the cabbie he assaulted. Should that ruin the rest of his life? He didn't permanently impact the victims life like in the examples above?

I was an ####### to some people in high school? Should I resign from my job?

Jesus, have a little compassion and empathy, a mistake doesn't make one a bad person and shouldn't define the rest of their life (again, with exceptions to the examples given).

I can tell you that my kid was very happy with this appointment. Only with the team for a week or so but he really liked Sutter and said he was a good teacher.
