I have never seen this much shade thrown at a losing opponent (at least in the NHL).

This Florida team is awesome!

I’ve seen enough, pay Marchand 10m and flip him to Florida at the TDL. Can even be written in the contract.

Holy. That is actually a legit idea for a competing team like this. Get cap space team to sign him, flip him, and keep a % of contract in exchange for some picks.

The shade being thrown just keeps getting better and better!

A++ to the Panthers.

It must have got really personal between these two teams seeing how much Florida is rubbing it in the faces of the Oilers. These guys are wasted and just letting it all out as they remained super composed during the series especially in game 3 when the Oilers tried to goon it up.

Wow Florida is really trolling the oilers a ton, pretty fun to see - after owning them twice in a row there's no possible comeback from Edmonton other than to just take it at this point too. That Marchand losers sticker post to social media in particular is amazing. It's great to see a growing section of the league seeing that organization for what they are, a bunch of bottom feeding losers who tanked their way into being average again and then hired a bunch of borderline criminals who should have otherwise been out of the league when they couldn't create a decent supporting cast themselves or hit on a single draft pick outside the top 10.

Doesn't really matter what happens from here on out with the Oilers and Tkachuk, he's owned them when it counts. And they reap what they sow... they are complaining about class now but Kassian jumping him from behind was one of the most classless things in the league in recent years, no suspension, nothing. Nice to see it come back around to bite them.

It finally happened — Brad Marchand was behind the counter at a Dairy Queen in Sunrise, dishing out “Brad” Blizzards as a true hometown hero.

What happens if the Flames win that series? Perhaps Tkachuk and Johnny are still here. I don't know if that team wins a cup, but there is no doubt that series altered things.

But on the other hand it caused Tkachuk to be traded to the team that now McDavid can't beat.

The reaction from the Oilers last year was very different. They seemed to come out of that series with confidence, having won 3 straight, that they could beat them if given another crack.

This year their reaction was more defeatist. They seemed broken.
I was actually just coming here to post how much more satisfying this win by the Panthers over the Oilers was this year than it was last year. Last year did feel like Florida just hung on and Edmonton had the momentum. But this year really felt like an Edmonton beat down and hopefully really crushed their spirits. It warms the cockles of my heart.
