Can someone help me decode that Gladiator gif? I really can't tell what it might even mean?

I think it means the doors are open on the offseason. "Let's go" the .gif is just a reflection of excitement. That's my guess.

But love when the hot Goss does eventually drop. Makes for great conversation points.

Gladiator movie came out in 2000. That year flames drafted 9th. So they are making a deal with buffalo for 9th overall.

Gladiator was directed by Ridley Scott…Calgary is trading for Ridley Greig.

Or they are trading for Maximus Wanner from Boston…

Bennett himself chanting “8 more years” certainly makes it sound like he’s staying in Florida.

Lundell would be amazing. Eetu Luostarinen was tied for the third-most even-strength points in the NHL playoffs, with 19- while playing against the other team’s top players every night, doing alot of the dirty work for his line, and dominating possession. He’s a 6’3” center who could be a good candidate to replace Backlund when and if he departs.

Obviously, I would still prefer Lundell, as Luostarinen is turning 27 in September, and Lundell is only 23.

Lundell would be a sought after player, and would require a pretty good return.

18 points in the playoffs in 23 games, and was a + 19 FWTW.

If moved to a scoring line with PP time, he could easily hit 70 points.

Teams won’t get him for spare parts. It would take as starting point a very good young, cheap player ready to contribute to Florida right now.

Although I expect they’ll find a way to save money elsewhere.

Can't they trade it and the pick becomes unprotected? They won't be top 10 if they make some good moves.

I was half joking but it's going to be hard for them to easily free up space. Most of thier money is tied up in key players. Jones is paid a ton but I don't see them easily being able to work thier way around trading him. Thier defence will also be quite depleted if they lose both him and Ekblad.

Going to be very interesting.

Compare what Bennett is saying with that of Ekblad and it sure doesn't sound the same. I think he'll hit the market.

If they let Ekblad walk it solves all their cap problems. They'll have almost as much cap space as the Flames.

My guess, they are both resigned,
