If I was him (ignoring the Edmonton factor), this is what I'd do.
Max cap hit for 2 more years in Edmonton, then go to free agency with the cap well north of $100M and sign a long-term deal wherever you want.

He doesn't need to do that, he can make that up plus in endorsements becoming the face of Toronto.

I thought I read a post and the poster was guaranteeing he went to TO, saying they had insider information.

Cuz I don't read that as a guarantee he is signing in TO.
Is that what you are saying.
You have confirmed accurate insider information confirming he is signing in TO?

Is there an endorsement McDavid is currently missing out on? He's been swimming in them since he was a teenager; had a deal with CCM at 15. If he wants to really up that (not just "make it up" lol) he would sign with the Kings. He could turn into a true star in LA. The Kings have a lot to play with next summer and who doesn't think McDavid will get something like 20million a season from them. The cap is going up after stagnating and the guy is going to make bank.
If you're looking for credibility Toronto is the easy guess, but wouldn't look past Los Angeles

McDavid didn't come right out and say it, but I think anyone with Bar Trove gift cards should use them as soon as possible.

Money matters endorsements or not. LeBron James has probably the largest endorsements and takes the max contract.
The PA isn’t going to allow its biggest cash cow to set a precedent of taking discounts to play in Edmonton or Toronto.
If you don’t think they care or are competitive with salaries explain MacKinnon taking 12.6 in Colorado and depleting the team of its depth.
I think he extends for 2 years at 36 million. 1M less the max and 2M less the next hike max.

Yes and I have been saying that for a while now. He will sign with the Leafs after this deal is up.

Most of the endorsements NHLers seem to get are not dependent on cities. Crosby right now has about the same as McDavid and it's almost all sports related.

I don't think The Trove is going anywhere. They will just open one in Toronto too. Lots of players have investments in local companies or businesses and move on while keeping those.

I'm not going to say it's a guarantee he's leaving but if I was an Oilers fan(yuck) I would be a little nervous after hearing that.
It sounds like a guy who even if he says he does, isn't completely confident he's going to get that far again as an Oiler. Then the whole "Do what's best for my family" thing gave Gaudreau vibes to me.
Oilers fans are trying to say all is well because Pissy said he would do what was best for him this time last year but that means nothing. He's from Germany so he doesn't have to think about maybe having the chance of playing in or closer to home.

Rishsug the monkey on TSN Edmonton fanboy saying Lauren laying them business roots means they have embraced the city. The Trove is a beer take a leak and go out. She can run it when he’s in New York.

He can sell it to Pissy, who rebrands the dump as a Schnitzel Haus.

I think the 3-5 year deal is just wishful thinking for Oiler's media / brass.
They know if he signs long term his cap hit will be higher handicapping the rest of a team that already has multiple bad contracts and another on the way in Frederic

How can he be in New York if you expect him to sign in two to three weeks?

Does it have a large enough parking lot for Oiler fans to beat the crap out of each other?

From the staples article. Can I just say that he can’t transpose or even use a spell checker. All errors are his. Shame shame Edmonton journal. Maybe he should have bought grammarly instead of that stupid slowmo app that he uses. Anyways…
Quesiton: Just one last one for me, because there’s another player whose contract is the talk of the town, and that’s Evan Bouchard. Can you maybe discuss how much you’ve seen him grow and what he’s meant to this team in the playoffs over the last couple of years?
McDavid: Yeah, every time there’s a big game or a big moment, he shows up, you know. And that’s a skill that not everybody has. So, you know, as you make some boo boos every now and then in November. Sure, we all do But I think his game has been just improving year after year. It
seems like, you know, month by month, he just gets better and better… He took big strides, you know, defensively this year, taking on a role in the penalty kill… He’s incredibly important to the group, definitely a deal that needs to get done, and one that is really important for us.
What the actual heck is Mavi talking about. Do they not have video reviews in Edmonton post game?
Also surprised to see BooBoo used. What’s next…he uses tenderness?

Being an industry newbie, Lauren McDavid better have had partnered with an experienced restaurant management group. The graveyard of the well-intentioned but naive is legendary in the business.
