Stop ruining a celebration with your stupid arguments about the Gaudreaus.
This isn't the thread or the day for it.

I'm sorry but may be we can have another thread to talk about what happened in the scenario of Johnny not signing with the Flames and leave this thread for those of us to enjoy Greased Pigs misery?

Sorry. I don’t know how it started but he kept lying and dragging Meredith it needed to be stopped.
I’ll go pee on an Oiler flag now.

Not to pile onto the heaping Dogsheet mound of filth, but let this effing die please. I'm so sick and tired of reading Dissentowners constant defense of his insider info and then eventually blaming everyone else for egging it on.
Johnny's dead. The argument should be suspended indefinitely. It's kind of gross that we have to read this garbage post mortem.

This is the last thing I’ll say because people are right and this isn’t the right topic for this.
No one is denying there was a last-minute discussion. That part is public. What you’re pretending didn’t happen is the months of posts where you went way beyond the facts.
You didn’t just say they had a talk. You blamed Meredith. You painted her as the reason Johnny “threw away his legacy.” You said she “put her foot down,” that Johnny was submissive, and that Guy Gaudreau didn’t like her. That’s not reporting. That’s projection.
Saying a couple had a last-minute conversation is not the same as turning a woman into a villain and accusing her of controlling her husband’s career. The issue is not what Seravalli reported (and let’s not take a guy like Seravelli at gospel considering his long list of misreports). The issue is what you added to it, and how you twisted it into your own narrative.
If you still can’t tell what you did wrong, then I don’t know what to tell you.
I’m not going to derail this thread any longer.

How am I getting brought into this? You're ridiculous, the only thing I said earlier is you're not an insider, and you're not.

Any potential retroactive punishment by the NHL would loom large as every penny counts in Edmonton with extensions kicking in for Leon Draisaitl and likely Evan Bouchard.
The Oilers did not spend Kane’s LTIR money all season until receiving clarity from doctors in the final 24 hours leading up to the trade deadline that Kane would be unable to play until the postseason... It wasn’t until they announced the Kane would be unable to return and traded for defenseman Jake Walman that they used up the space created by Kane on LTIR...

A 3-4 year deal? Why would he ever do that?

I don't doubt your sources Dis.
My personal view is he resigns in Edmonton. I think over the course of the next year there's a ton of pressure on him to sign. He'll more or less be asked daily. At a certain point I don't know if he'll know how to handle that pressure. Stars in hockey don't tend to leave at the prime of their career from what I can recall. So I'm deducing he'll settle in Edmonton because he'll ultimately be coerced to.

May be he'll sign and 2 years or so into that contract he'll demand a trade. Didn't Pronger does something like that?

Oilers are so boned. I mean they have to re-sign McJesus but it's going to cripple them into making some very terrible trades. And they don't have draft capital or a remotely capable crop of prospects. They're in big doo doo. I know the caps going up but McDaivid will be making max cap.
They need what, goalies, defensemen, FW depth and complimentary. Wing help for their top 2 players. There's some really massive holes to fill and nothing in the pipeline to fill em.
