I'd rank those three in the reverse order. Reschny, Kindel, and then Cootes. Reschny in the playoffs alone was a stand out. Cootes didn't have enough of a supporting cast to show what he can really do.

Flames get:
18- Reschny
31 - Gastrin
54 - Schmidt
80 - Liam Pettersson (D)
144 - Tinus Luc Koblar (great pick if only for the name!)
175 - Owen Griffin
208 - Andreas Straka

I'd be pretty happy with that.
What! This is the worst possible outcome…now if your able to draft Gastrin at 32, that would be amazing

When Cootes did have the support at the U18s he led Canada in points and is probably pretty similar level offensively to Reschny and Kindel. Id still rank them just like you did though, Id rather the Flames draft Reschny - Kindel - Cootes.

Cootes - 7gp 12p
Reschny - 5gp 8p
Kindel - 5gp 7p

Thanks Bingo! This is what I was thinking, trying to see how far someone might fall but also how varied it gets the more you go down.

Want a relaxing experience? Go to FC Hockey, pick a two round mock draft and the Oilers as the team selecting.

The big fallers that I see that are steals are Chernyshov and Artamonov. Interesting cause they're both Russian players that played in Russia (Chernyshov played in Saginaw this year). Maybe that means without actual eyes on these prospects, teams shied away from taking them too early? Or, I'm taking a really small sample size and cherry-picking. Either way, let's draft Alexander Zharovsky.

Upside Hockey's 2025 NHL Draft Headquarters
- July 2024 Update: our way too early Top 96 now up!

NOTE:
The Complexity of the Treliving Legacy Monahan First Rnder Trade to Habs:
via Sureloss:

"Conditions

(A) if Panthers 2025 first transfers to Flames then
(1) if both Flames and Panthers 2025 firsts are not in top 10 then Canadiens receive more favorable of Flames, Panthers picks;
or
(2) if Flames 2025 first is in top 10 and Panthers 2025 first is not in top 10 then Canadiens receive Panthers 2025 first;

(B) if Panthers 2025 first does not transfer to Flames then
(1) if Flames 2025 first is #1 overall then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 third and more favorable of Flames, Panthers 2026 firsts;
or
(2) if Flames 2025 first is #2-10 then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 first;
or
(3) if Flames 2025 first is not in top 10 then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 first and
(a) if Panthers 2025 first is not in top 10 and (b) Panthers 2025 first has been transferred to another team and (c) Panthers 2025 first is more favorable than Flames then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 fourth)

(A) happens as long as Florida doesn't pick top 10 because the pick was top 10 protected in the Tkachuk trade

(B) happens if Florida picks top 10 which is unlikely to occur it seem right now.

Worst case scenario for (A) would be for the Flames 1st to pick just outside the top 10 and Panthers late 1st round, because that means the Flames would transfer their 1st to Montreal"
Just updated original (now long a$$ post that i'm quoting lol) with Bingo's latest Consolidated Top 64.

I haven't promoted anywhere else yet nor posted on Substack newsletter yet, so CP gets exclusive first glimpse - link above in OP.

Upside Update:
In somewhat exciting news for us, behind the scenes been working on publishing a digital (PDF) Draft Guide. We're probably ~75% done (working on final mock draft, cover, final edits, etc) - hope to release by end of week/weekend. Everything else we offer is free, so first premium product. Stay tuned! (CPers will definitely get a discount if interested! Thx for al the support we get here!)

Goalie named Alexei Medvedev projected to be available around the time the Flames pick at #54.

Andrei Medvedev was chosen at #56 in 2001.

I don't know why but the goalie I think the Flames will draft is Frolov. He just keeps popping up in my arm chair Scouting. Just reeks of a goalie that the Goalie department would love to get their hands on.

Plus we love drafting Russian goalies recently. Got a whole stable of em over there in the back.

I've read that some people think Frolov is very underrated, similar to how some felt about Zarubin when the Flames picked him. And they sure do love their Russian goalies lately.

Cootes - 7gp 12p
Reschny - 5gp 8p
Kindel - 5gp 7p
Cootes is probably the only one who stick at center at the NHL level. Reschny is 50/50 if he sticks at center. Kindel is most likely a winger, he just isn’t a good enough of a skater to play center at the NHL level.

Cootes then Reschny and I wouldn’t take Kindel at 18.

If Radim Mrtka falls to 18, do you take him?

He looks like he is going to be really fking good.

There are at least three defensemen in the first round that would be very, very, VERY hard to pass up if they fell to us, other than Schaefer of course- Aitcheson, Mrtka, and Smith.

Cam Reid is projected by most to go between picks 20-28 approximately, but he’s a bit smallish- although one of the best skaters in the draft.

There is a lot to like with Aitcheson, but I wouldn’t take him at 18. Love the compete level and the physical play, he also has a great shot. The skating and hands are lacking, so I don’t see the offense translating to the next level. He also has a lot of work to do in terms of the details of his game. He is also one of the oldest players in the draft class.

I think Cameron Reid will/should go before Aitcheson.
