Term would make sense if he was like 2m aav. This epically inept by the Oilers. Love it.

Guys I figured it out. They are going to send him to summer Goaltending school so he can replace Skinner. It all makes sense now. Great management.

But-why.gif

Like.. why 8 lol? Just senseless risk for a mid bottom 6 forward.

On the market he wouldn't get that lol.

And how are bouchbum and the three other forwards getting extended?

Feels like a knee jerk reaction after losing in the finals the second year in a row

Just keep doing what you're doing, Stan!

How many 1st round draft picks would they need to attach in a trade to dump that contract now?

It makes no sense. Even if they are betting on him being a player worth $4 million per, why not give him the show-me deal? They must think he is going to exceed those expectations if they are going long term like that.

Donato with 30 goals and 60 points just signed with Chicago for 4 years at $4M.

Now he's not a 60 point guy, but he's not a 20 point guy either LOL.

He can become the Oilers version of Bryan Bickell...without any cups.

Edmonton really wants to make McDavid earn a Cup, just tossing on as many anchors as possible. They gotta be re-signing Bouchard to a 12-14 AAV contract at this point.

Frederic seems to get hurt a lot too. This is an awful deal.

Can they trade Kane and Arvidsson? It’s a must for them at this point

Back on topic...How the F does Frederic get 8 years? He's 27 with barely 100 points....if he didn't just sign an 8 year contract I would have said he'd be at risk of not playing in the NHL in a couple of years.
