Sandman listed 6 centers, not sure how many players you think are in the top 5 but it is less than 6.

I'd pay:
Wolf
Andersson
NJ's 1st
To CGY
SJ 2nd overall
Why:
1. We land our #1 C that fits Parekhs window
2. We're bad next year, which fits our new cores window
3. Meets Edwards 8% return target, by saving on two big contracts, and the team can sell youth.

I suspect Misa tops out as a PPG center. Not sure if that is a first line center or not.

I don’t think Misa is worth moving Wolf for.

San Jose has Askarov, why would they want Wolf?

Powerplay Quarterback

I'd rather take a bad deal then re-sign him, for the drawbacks you stated and more. Re-signing him blocks a roster spot, ice time, eats cap and doesn't align (in my opinion) with our realistic competition window.
Just using Lindholm as a constant example. Even if all we got was Brzustewicz alone, I think Conroy would of made the amethyst move of trading him rather the re-signing him. I would of rather him walked for free.
Great moves by Conroy there. Hopefully he can do it again.

I'm going to be very happy if Conroy trades Rasmus! I think that's a great move that would help lead us to our ultimate goal.

I agree with this.
I don't know why people take it so personally when some of us disagree with moves the Flames are making or are rumored to be making. You can be a fan without cheering with pom poms no matter the team does. I agree with some things we have done and I disagree with a lot of other things.
It is also ok to disagree with someone and not take it personally. Some posters on here like Royale post great content and act like adults and we have a legit good discussion about it. He has his opinion, I have mine and the Flames I'm sure are somewhere in the middle. Most posters on here are great as well.
I won't name names, but some people on here take things way too personally. And throw a tantrum when me or others disagree with a move the Flames are making. It is fine to have differing opinions, some people get way too upset.

Desnoyers is intriguing because of his two way game. But if his upside is Sean Coutirier (spelling?) I’m not sure that’s worth moving mountains for
This just isn’t a good draft.

Rossi would instantly be the best u25 forward in our system. For the right price it could be a slick add.

Coronato is better than Rossi.
Misa topping out a a ppg is a 1C. Just dumb takes. Cry when you say we need to get a top 5 pick cry when you suggest trying to trade into the top 5 so we can get a midget.
No wonder the franchise has done #### all.

Lol.
You think you are some shining example of great discourse?
I have no problem with people disagreeing with rumored or actual moves. But you go further by making illogical leaps to it being some sort of proof of what you've already decided. It's the doomsday negativity that I tire of. You can be that way if you choose, and in turn, people can offer counterpoints to that. No one is saying what you can and can't post - they are just commenting on what you post.
And then you post utter crud like this:
"Alot of people are clearly fine with doing the same thing we always do though. They want to continue to enjoy 1 playoff series win every decade. Because they don't have the patience for a rebuild."
Lame.

Draft Pick

Why does it have to be "hate" top 5 picks to oppose offloading significant assets
If there is a trade (or a trade up) that makes sense I am sure the flames will be on it. Do not see an easy path up to #2
That is a lot of assets people are discussing parting ways with.
And there is no guarantee your landing a 1C regardless.
I guess all depends on how you value the pieces shipping out but some of the proposals are getting a little ridiculous in here

I mean if choice is Rossi or Misa, I take Misa all day.
I'd take most of those 6 centers mentioned over Rossi.
I just dont think that's realistic, wheras getting Rossi is.

So we keep our assets instead of wasting it on a midget a team can’t wait to get rid of.
Red flags everywhere but some here think getting draft picks means parting with them right away to get mid players.
You need stars to win. Rossi ain’t it him. Depth is easier to get stars aren’t you don’t build 3 lines before you have a top line.

I ddisagree with you th. I think Rossi has more ceiling left. And a higher ceiling then anyone we'll probably grab at 18.
I'd take stocky and scrappy 5"7 over a soft stick figure 6'3

Nah we don’t need more middle 6 guys. Especially one who is tiny. We need star players difference makers.

The team is probably weaker long term, and weighed down by an 8 mil contract in no more than 4 years in on rasmus.
I think its an absolutely horrific strategy. Should be 99 to 1 odds. I also see this as staying the course on past due players, and a departure from Conroy statements. So what if he has changed his mind because a bad 2nd half has messed up his extension numbers? This player was vocal about being interested in playing elsewhere before last season.

4 years in on the rasmus contract will hopefully be a vital time for us, trying to resign parekh, hopefully playing alright In our new building. This is what we want to have strapped to us then?
