LOS ANGELES—Triumphantly planting the pole firmly into the ground, U.S. Marines reportedly raised the American flag outside a cell phone store Thursday after defeating a group of skateboarding teenagers.
“Victory!” cried out 1st Lt. Eric Mullaney, who wiped the sweat and grime from his brow and gazed up at the poignant sight of the billowing Stars and Stripes as it flew outside the small but strategic city strip mall.
“It was a daunting five-minute battle, but we held our ground. May freedom ring over this Cricket Wireless! Semper fi!”
At press time, sources reported that one of the Marines had tragically fallen in the line of duty after tripping over an electric scooter.

lol, Newsom is giving it to Trump though. Even referenced the “Newscum” nickname. Whatever the result of this, Newsom’s speech is really making them look ridiculous, small, and petty.
Passed by 2 votes. Might have been handy to not have 3 lost Democratic votes from the 3 geriatric House members who have already died so far this term.

I don't remember anyone ever dying during their term in the Finnish senate. Certainly not from old age. We have 200 members.
(...also there's a system in place so even if someone would die, someone else would quickly take their place. There's usually 1-2 people who leave their seat for other reasons. Plus there's temporary replacements due to maternity/paternity leaves of course.)
Looks like the only (soon to be “only other”) individual with a parade for their birthday was, I’m sure you can guess it… A.H.
The UK actually has a military parade every year for their own dear leader's birthday. Used to be for their queen and recently after her death is done now for their king. Probably where Trump got his idea given he wants to be a king...

That’s more of carrying on a tradition though not because someone has super thin skin and needs to celebrate their birthday as an individual. Also dumb though.
