One more thing to consider. For UEFA teams if you win one of the 12 groups, you go straight to the World Cup and are in Pot 1 or 2 for the draw.
If you come in 2nd, you got to win two UEFA playoff games where bounced have to go your way and you will be in Pot 4 for the draw.

Because of nations league, teams in a 5 team group took their 'bye' back in March.
Which means now Italy and Netherlands have to play 8 games in the next 4 windows while other teams will get their bye.

Italy scapped out the 3 points today.
Now they need whoever the new manager is to figure out their formation and roster before their next fixtures in September.
Because these last two games were ugly with Spalletti.
Sometimes a manager is just a good club manager but not a good international manager, and that's how it feels to me with Spalletti, the roster never felt convincing under him and he never felt like he had a plan.

A 6 team inter-confederation playoff in March 2026 will determine the last 2 spots.

CONMEBOL 7th

The final 12 have been decided in CONCACAF. They will now be drawn into 3 groups of 4. The group winners go to the World Cup. The best 2 second place teams go to the intercontinental playoff. The draw is on Friday.

Pot 3: Curacao, T&T, Guatemala
