I wonder if something changed with the bounce that has messed me up.

I play a similar wedge setup and has similar problems with my lob wedge. What worked for me was not taking a full rip at anything less than a PW. It's given me a bit better control inside 125y.

CBX 50, Callaway Sure-Out 56, CBX 60 full face.
The 50 is a much used club both for instances where I have less than PW in and because I can get the ball out of weird spots quite consistently with it.
The 56 is my scariest club because I am terrified of having to replace it and there being no more of them. It's the one club that if you took it away and replaced it with something similar I am guaranteed to lose strokes. It's again used as a normal full swing club for shorter distances in but it's my easiest to control club for around the greens and I never flub feel shots with it due to the wide sole so I use it for tons of things, in addition to sand shots.
The 60 exists in my bag just to go over stuff, primarily bunkers. I have been opening it up a bit lately and haven't skulled one through the green in the last half dozen attempts, so that's good. But I try not to use it very much due to the risk of disaster, except where the risk of disaster is going to be high no matter what I hit.

I’m assuming you’ve tried the Smart Sole. What do you like about the Sure Out over it?

Anyone done any golf in Banff/Canmore this year yet? If so, how are conditions out there? Golfing Stewart Creek, Banff Springs, Silvertip all for the first time this weekend!

Yes - I have one somewhere among the clubs that aren't in my bag. I am not sure what it is about it that doesn't work as well for me, but it is far less reliable.
The sure out is also easier to mess with the face angle a bit, open it up a few degrees. There's a limit to that but with the smart sole I basically was finding that any messing around with face was instant mi#### territory.
So yeah, usually "more idiot proof" means "less versatile" but at least for me, the Sure out is better in both categories. I hit one of the better sand shots in recent memory yesterday and I once again was thankful for that club.

It's time to take the plunge this year and do some lessons. Any recommendations? I have some new clubs from last year that I don't yet have a feel for distances, so having something that could incorporate that would be great. I don't think I'd have time for anything too big, but maybe 4-5 sessions or so to just put me back on the right track.

Was in the interior BC area for work and was able to hit The Rise and Tobiano, highly recommend both if you get the chance. Twilight rates were $110 including carts for both and twilight started at 4pm, quite a steal imo

Haven't been able to get out too much and take full advantage of the membership this year yet... Played about 7 or 8 times but most of those just 5 or 9 holes.
June 30th can't come soon enough! Gonna be out there every day!

Got 4 rounds at Sagebrush next weekend.
We've booked a small 15 room hotel exclusively to our group of 12 and set up a mini tournament; Ryder Cup style.
Can't wait.

You will have a great time. Really cool spot. We built a bunch of the buildings there back in the day.
