On a positive note, another win and another huge game from Kirk. Dude is on a serious heater.

Resilience has been one of the missing ingredients from this team. They are showing that they aren’t going to roll over when things don’t go in their favour.

In a 162 game season, it is going to be a roller coaster and a lot of things will break against you. The great teams find ways to adjust and keep on rolling. The Jays have started to show flashes of a resilient team mentality and let’s hope that keeps on going.

Correct. Lukes has just been placed on the 7-day IL with a concussion.

Gets a dinker ground ball called a double at least for now.

Welp. Now they've changed that Heineman double to an error.

That was great small ball by the Jays... this team looks completely different than the last time I watched them.

Good to get this series win before heading to Philly.

Sweep is the bonus.

Man. What a great game. What a great series. What a turnaround for this team. There are some seriously good vibes around them.

And don't look now but they are creeping into the top 10 in all major offensive categories. Who would've thought.

It's funny this team is doing so well now and yet Vladdy is putzing along not doing much, Santander is a team worst -0.9 fWAR and they only have 3/5ths of a rotation. If Scherzer and/or Manoah come back through the summer and provide decent starting pitching this team might really start to roll. Maybe Vlad and Santander heat up like they did in the 2nd half last year as well.

Meanwhile, I don't think many here do much prospect watching but there are a ton of positive things happening down there as well. AA has one heck of a rotation going right now, and there are a couple arms at A+ that probably need promotion too, but AA is already stacked. Some of this might bleed onto the MLB roster by seasons end.

Plus a lot of bats are making noise down there too. A couple guys recently got bumped to AAA after putting up massive numbers at AA and they haven't slowed down at all at the higher level so far.

Those eight series have quite a few weaker teams (2x white sox, angels, As), so if they can stay afloat the next two weeks hopefully they can do some damage before the break.
This has gone better than I expected. I would have been happy with 6-7 wins over the 12 games/4 series. They have 7 wins out of the first 9 games/3 series. Even if they only got one from Philly that's easily playoff calibre baseball, and the level of difficulty goes down quite a bit after.

Although the Cards have now lost 4 in a row with the sweep and are no longer a playoff team...

Looks like the universe is aligning with the AL East teams all getting relatively hot and the AL Central teams falling back to reality. It was wild seeing all three wild card spots occupied by the Central. Now the Jays and Rays comfortably occupy two of those spots. Must be nice having a doormat like the White Sox to boost the win column from time to time.
