Wolf Flames equipment sale June 14

Here's your chance to pick up Kevin Rooney's barely broken-in mitts or Adam Klapka's skates for your growing youngster.

Guaranteed some of the "collectors" will have them sitting in the corner with them as soon as the doors open

I know they dont REALLY care, as long as things get cleared out, but it would be really nice if the flames limited # of items for the first couple hours, to allow more people to get some of the better gear. Instead of having the same guys scrape everything off the tables, and then sit on the phone with buyers for the next 2 hours.

That's insane.

So they are allowed to just "reserve" the good stuff. Hold it for two hours. Decide if they want to buy it, and then just put the stuff they can't sell back? They shouldn't be allowed to leave a table with anything unless they are purchasing it right then and there. And yes limits per person should be applied.

I know I've reacted to this scene before...but didn't realize they could just hold the stuff for two hours, try to find buyer, and then return it.

I’ve never done one of these. What do folks aim for? Collectibles or do you actually want to wear Hanley’s elbow pads?

The golden ticket for me was always the equipment bags. Never did get one as they get scooped up right away.

There was an old woman who lived in a skate.

The gear is so infrequently used because they have so much gear for each player, that the stuff is really good quality pro level stuff for used prices. For no name guys at least. I have Grossmans helmet and Stajans gloves, which I still play in. They were practically brand new and cost me like $120 all in.

Ya I’ve always thought the gloves, skates and helmets are good finds. Skates can be tough because of sizing but if you find a pair that fits, they’re a great deal. Always tons of gloves so you don’t have to go super early for those. Same with helmets

But now you have to live with the shame of being associated with Nick Grossmann...

$30 brand new helmet (what did he play, 6 terrible games?). I’ll happily bathe in that shame.

This, you have people come and grab 50 jerseys and then sit in the corner as they try to see the values they can sell them for instead of just putting a cap on things out the gate.

And then they pop up online and defend their dirtbag behaviour.

I assume the flames group know this is going on?
They won’t do anything? Seems like a pretty simple fix, especially if it’s contained to a group of repeat offenders…

If nothing has been passed up the food chain, I’d be willing to use some of my connections to look into addressing this.
No promises but this was sad to read.

Past few years I've been meaning to go down to get some gloves and elbow pads, reading about all the resellers and hoarders discourages me and I don't bother.
