Yea, I’m not setting foot in that country ever again, unless by some miracle there’s a change in government in 2028. But I think we all know that the likelihood of that is pretty goddamn slim at this point.
I was hoping they’d at least make it to the mid-terms and possibly find a way to right the ship. But at this rate they’re gonna be a full-blown authoritarian state by September. Possibly even sooner.

The Tweet made no mention of Mexico.

Trump Says Army Bases Will Revert to Confederate Names
The move would reverse a years long effort to remove names and symbols honoring the Confederacy from the military.
Trump declares intention to openly break Congressionally-enacted valid law in order to honor white supremacy." Sums it all up.

Trump is shutting FEMA down saying if there’s a disaster or a problem the governors should be able to handle it. This is of course inconsistent with his response in California right now. It’s also wildly inefficient for all the states to basically then have to have a copycat of fema ready to go.
This one will be interesting as the red states tend to get hammered most by hurricanes.

Yes, I’ve been way too lazy about finding another state to live in. But if my house blows down I’ll have to anyway.
Does anyone here live in Arizona? 😜

I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.

Trump's response has GOT to get under Elon's skin. Just gives him zero.
"Ya, I've heard of that guy. Elon. Anyway did you hear I won an election?"

He was already retweeting both JD Vance and Trump by Sunday. Coming back with his tail tucked between his legs was an obvious next move. Elon is finding out like a few others that MAGA is a cult of personality, the crown isn't moving around, it's Donald's. No matter how many Dark MAGA or Dogefathr shirts you wear

Our 15 year old son is supposed to be flying alone to Minneapolis to spend time with his cousin (wife's sister) then fly with them to Myrtle Beach for a week vacation in August.
I'd hate to take this time away from him and generally we are non concerned travelers but I'm becoming increasingly more concerned about him doing this trip without us.
Not really concerned about the YYC-MSP flight as he clears in Calgary but the "unaccompanied" flights in the USA. we have notarized travel alone and with sister in law letters but still uneasy.
see what comes of the next 2 weeks with the 250 celebration but that country could be in Civil war by the time the trip comes, which will mean he obviously wont be going.

As long as he’s white and doesn’t have social media critical of Dotard on his phone, he’ll be fine.
Too much quality TV for there to be a civil war.

A change in government isn't good enough. Not when it's the same ####ty 2 party system that brings out the "best of sport's fans" and we get to play the flipflop game every 4 years (big IF another election happens). The only way I would even consider visiting again is if by miracle another election occurs, Democrat wins and they actually begin arresting, prosecuting and imprisoning those responsible. And I don't mean just Trump. There is a long-ass list of people who need to be held accountable for playing a role in dismantling the country. A loooooong list. That doesn't even touch on the tens of millions deranged MAGAs clapping like seals.
So how do you even begin to do that? Merrick Garland fumbled the ball with his "don't want to set a precedence" stance which essentially let Trump walk out with no consequences. I sometimes wonder if Garland sits at home sipping his laté, if he thinks he did the right thing watching the country burn, but at least a precedence wasn't set. I also do not believe that MAGA dies when Trump dies. As long as the 2 party system exists without other options and libs are around to be owned, MAGA will live on now that the cat is out of the bag. Americans are simply too dumb/uneducated to have any kind of self-reflection like the Germans did to turn a new leaf. Yeah, I'm sure WWF star Linda f'ing McMahon will do a fine job of teaching the next generation of American children how to self-reflect.
The country is lost and lost for probably the rest of my natural lifetime. I just hope Canada does what it needs to do to diversify, get of the American teet, and is able to defend itself if the time comes.
