Sometimes there's a delay and sometimes the clicks don't register properly or the beep/honk doesn't occur until the 2nd click. I think some people click 3+ times out of habit and then wander back to their vehicle if they don't identify the honk/beep that is theirs (door ajar etc.).
So what you're saying is it's a trickle down of the poor life choices their ancestors made?

Well, either from the owners, or the designers of the vehicles... but yes. Wormius reminded me of my older vehicle that wouldn't turn off the inside lights for like 10-15 minutes if I didn't click the lock button twice. Idiotic design.
As mentioned, sometimes you need to click more than once for the beep/honk or for the lights to turn off. This is especially true of certain one way vs 2 way remotes. My van's auto starter needs the vehicle to be locked twice in a row in rapid succession before you can click the auto-starter button. Because it's one way and prone to interference/remote is too slow to register quick clicks/have to redo if in between each lock click is more than 2-3 seconds, I click lock 3 times before I click and hold the auto car starter button. It's annoying how often I have to try 2-3 times before I can get the van started. At least the van is a beep when lock is clicked instead of an obnoxious honk.

This sounds like a puzzle box world of hurt that I'm glad I don't live in.

Is that the old Hart Mansion that's fully engulfed, on the right hand side of Sarcee, past Edworthy? Not the first one, the second one that's closer to COP, but on that same side?

Don't think so. It looks like the old, ####ty house that has been abandoned for a long time.
My current car has a nice beep rather than a honk and since it does it by proximity I leave it on so I know it locked when walking away. Way quieter than a honk.

Does anyone have any experience with Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society? We left them a message because we found a baby (pre-fledgling) crow on the ground under its nest with what might be a crooked wing (we honestly don't know if he's actually injured). Just wondering how long they typically take to respond, or if we need to set up a more secure and waterproof spot for the little guy in our backyard while we wait. Or if we should just pack him up and drive him there? Also, if anyone has any tips on what to do in these situations, please let me know.

Have always taken birds to them. It's a pretty simple process. Just wrap it in an old towel.
