I think it’s fairly reasonable to suggest we are still one step away before you can’t come back from it. Whether people want to come back from it or not is a separate question. The odds of a free election in 2026 and 2028 are still at least 25% but diminishing.
I disagree, those odds are too high. I’m surprised with the amount of evidence and also just applying common sense most people still haven’t arrived at the idea that there will not be another fair election in the USA. They may have an election but it’ll be just like type in Equatorial Guinea. People will “vote”, but it won’t be an election. Trump ain’t leaving. What’s amazing is they literally told people they would do this and people still don’t believe them.

The question lies with the courts now and Trumps reactions to the courts. You will have the use of the deportation laws as well as this mobilization of the national guard in court shortly.
So there are two questions will the courts rule for Trump and will Trump listen to the courts. I think Gorsuch sticks with states rights. You have Jackson, Sonyemeyer, and Kaegan who will against Trump, so you need one of Alito, Roberts, Thomas or Barret to be anti-facist. I think Roberts flips as well.
Then what does Trump do? What do the republicans in the Senate do? What does the military do? That’s the point it becomes a constitutional crisis. I don’t think we know what comes after that.

ICE raid Los Angeles elementary schools to make "welfare check" on 1st graders—principal blocked entry. Disguised federal agents told school staff they had parent's permission to take kids out of class—that was outright lie. "They quickly hid their IDs," when asked for details—arrived in unmarked cars & wore casual clothing—leading to confusion about who they actually were. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that the agents worked for them—but claimed they were not technically ICE agents. However, the federal agents said they were at the school to make a "welfare check" on students they claimed were "unaccompanied minors who crossed the border." Something tells me this is the start of the largest civil unrest since the freedom marches in the south during the 60s.
Also this is the trump playbook of his last term, just on steroids. Wave hands at the rest of the world and play victim card, ramp up civil unrest when the protests start.
This time it's ICE, last time it was George Floyd and the Minneapolis riots. Remember the saber rattling words he used during that little ditty of an event? Straight out of the KKK manifest.
