Anoloug gulps up a big chunk of the spectrum that can be far more efficiently used in digital. We wouldn't have the data speeds we have now if analoug was still occupying those spectrums.

We’re in Calgary for just over two weeks next month. I used to have a good roaming package, but not any more.
Can you guys recommend any SIM cards I could purchase when I’m there? My son is mainly interested in having a lot of data. We’ll be splitting our time between Calgary, Canmore and Banff - doesn’t everyone?
TIA

Another vote for Airalo. The only thing I would say is to make sure to follow their instructions. In the US it worked perfectly as soon as I activated it. However in Japan it didn't work at first. I had missed their instructions to specify the carrier to use.

Near downtown Calgary. My phone and my wife's do the same thing.

I switched to Freedom briefly and then left since their coverage was not great near my house and office. It's been far better with Public for a similar price.
Public uses Telus infrastructure, but the downsides are that you can't purchase a phone through them and there is no international roaming, outside of NA.

Sent you a PM with referral code in case you want to go ahead with Public.
I have been using dual sims on my phone, one with Public for my personal number and one with Bell for my work number. Coverage seems very similar between the two, and I haven't noticed Public being any worse than my previous plans with Rogers/Fido. Very happy with them and wouldn't hesitate to recommend their plans. I've got one of their 5G plans but I expect it would be fine without as well.
Freedom was the only carrier I've had coverage issues with around the city.

My daughter switched to Public a few months ago. No complaints with coverage and she spends a lot of time in rural central/eastern Alberta for work. Ironically the one dead spot she has encountered is on the Anthony Henday in west Edmonton for a short stretch.

I have 4 family lines on Telus. Soon it will be 5. I think I will look into Public to see what can be offered. I'm paying too much per line with Telus.

Went from Telus to Public last year. Its been totally fine for me, and I use it frequently for work (Teams, Calls).
I think to only downside is if there is an issue its chat board only, which was actually fine the one time I used it.
$35/75GB/US CAN MEX/5G
Its a no brainer deal
