Even as a huge stamps fan this is suchna refreshing change to the bc lions home opener. They've really made an annual must attend spectacular out of their home opener.
We had tons of absolute legends and were celebrating 80 years as a team and it was shockingly embarrassing watching it unfold like a lunch time cafeteria honoring of a teacher retiring at a high school. Just a small smattering of fans and then they cut to BC with 55000 fans singing along to a major recording artist and carrying that energy into the game.

Bc plays in a stadium that will host World Cup soccer games.
The Stamps are in the worst facility in the league. It’s a huge problem

TBH, I'm not a fan of Monson, not last season, after this game, he hasn't change my mind.

Good move by BC to bring in Snoop Dogg. Big crowd. Food for thought.

He’s terrible and shouldn’t have been hired in the first place. We lost some great talented coaches like mace to let that bum run our defence into the toilet.
He called the same play over and over

Rourke having a good second half.
E=NG. Ford can run, can’t pass.

The Flames owning the Stamps has been their downfall. They have zero creativity and do absolutely nothing with the team. No marketing, no fresh ideas, no atmosphere. The sad thing is they truly don’t even care and would rather watch the team die a slow death than pump a couple dollars into it. There is almost 1.4 million people in this city, surely you can drum up 30,000 of them to come watch a game with a little effort. #### off CSEC. You got your arena basically for free, how about actually pumping some money into one of your properties other than the Flames. Hell, they even do a better job marketing the Roughnecks……we need an owner like B.C. and Montreal who have turned their teams around simply by caring, being creative, and putting in an effort to attract fans.

Stamps need to watch what BC is doing. Play action and get Rourke on a called scramble to get a TD.
We let Adams drop back with no rollout action outside of his ad lib scrambles which all led to big plays.

Fun night at McMahon.
Love having a more dynamic qb at the helm.
The stadium sucks. The crowd is more lively when full, but getting around, getting food, using the facilities is way easier when people avoid it. So, some give and take.
Flutie was signing autographs like crazy from the sideline at the end of the game (my son got the mini football he caught signed).
Getting families to come to games and getting core memories to create a spark/passion is the key to the sustainability of the league.

There's no food for thought. The Stamps are owned by the Flames and given a literal shoestring budget to operate on because it's not serious to them. You'd be hard pressed to get the Flames to approve a raise of a couple grand for in game entertainment for a home opener let alone the $100k+ performance fee of a major recording artist.

100% this. But unfortunately the Stamps are toast in this town as the only chance of revitalizing them was if a new stadium was approved in the same deal where the Flames ra**ed the city and province for their new hockey arena.
Now that they conned our stupid citizens into that billionaire handout the Flames are done. No new stadium, no additional funding for the Stamps for anything beyond what is necessary for the stadium to literally not collapse and no ****s given for advertising or attempting to bring fans back/acquire new ones.,

I had a blast at the game tonight. Crowd wasn't great from an attendance standpoint. But those that were there were certainly engaged.
The CFL is making cash on the back of a strong tv deal with TSN. There's still passing interest. But the stadium experience kinda sucks. The field is so large that any noise or excitement kind of gets lost. I know the newer stadiums in Regina and Winnipeg try to funnel that. But an older place like McMahon it just feels like you're at the park and a football game is sort of happening in front of you.

You're right troutman, Fajardo is better, but they've given Tre Ford the keys to the car and it could be some time before he loses them.

Haven’t been this excited for a Stamps season in a long time. I think the pandemic really made me appreciate ALL the sports teams and experiences we have in town. I loved the Stamps as a kid, then stopped caring for years. I’ve really come back around. As much as we need a new building for the team, I absolutely love McMahon. It just reminds me of a different era of sports and I enjoy the throwback feel. And yes, we need a new stadium yesterday. It was weird to not see Burns/Foothills stadium in the background.
Anyway, I went to the game last night. I underestimated the autograph lineup and arrived at 3:15 (autographs were from 3-4) and was the first person told “sorry, the line ends here”. So no autograph for my Flutie jersey. Kinda funny to be that close and not make it. At least that’s what I told myself, haha. Judging by the size of the lineup versus the size of the crowd, I feel like everyone there was in the autograph line. I agree with the above sentiment- the people who were there were really into the game and having fun. It’s exciting to see a more dynamic QB behind center. No need to get too high or low after game 1. It’ll take some time for things to click but I like what I saw, especially from the run game. Hopefully more wins will bring people back to the games. Nothing like a beautiful night of football at McMahon. Go Stamps!
