Just about the entire Cabinet now issuing statements to raise the temperature and sow disorder & chaos. It’s what they want. The only administration in our lifetimes that seeks to escalate tensions.
The messaging on the news from a US Attorney is these are agitators, highly organized, throwing Molotov cocktails and rocks, if you are participating "you are not safe and you can expect a knock on your door soon", this is a "sophisticated resistance" whose leaders will be prosecuted, "order will be restored", the governor refused to control his state so "we will do it for him", yeah this is going great
Pfft. I’m watching 2 different streams and all I see is people standing around and maybe a few fireworks. Vaush says on his stream that so far the destruction is a car and a refrigerator.
For the record it's people literally just standing with their phones out yelling funk ice etc etc, the absolutely worst thing that has happened is that now and then a firework has been thrown, the proportion of this asinine response from the feds is so over the top it almost makes one suspect they were waiting for a reason

He and his family have created several ways for people to enrich them — and government policy then changes in ways that benefit those who have helped the Trumps profit. Often Mr. Trump does not even try to hide the situation. As the historian Matthew Dallek recently put it, “Trump is the most brazenly corrupt national politician in modern times, and his openness about it is sui generis.” He is proud of his avarice, wearing it as a sign of success and savvy.

There have been big protests across the USA every day this year, but rarely are they reported on by the media.
Trump and his cronies hate Newsom and California, so they're making sure to give this one special attention. They obviously want to make an example of them.

Gawd I hate Bondi. Goes without saying.
I was watching one and saw some demonstrators and pretty easy arrests with no push back or anything, but on the one I am watching now, there is a lot of empty streets and police staging. It's weird, because there isn't much going on. It seems really excessive and if anything, the massive police presence is more likely to provoke something.

Yes, I saw that too. Police running around, a peaceful arrest, and a few people standing around. Then I fell asleep.
No need to use hyperbole and compare to Nazis, but what really pisses me off about this situation is the excuse of just following orders from above. It happens in society too, where you just do the job you're told. What about morals? Do these people not think about those families affected? Just doing what your role is, is so 1940s Germany. People really have to think for themselves and not do something that is immoral.
I used to think like that as well. But the comparison at this stage is lock step in alignment with where the Nazi regime was at a similar point.
It is a rational, and reasonable comparison to make. And the evidence base to at least bring the comparison into the discussion id there.

"If you obstruct or assault law enforcement, this department of justice will prosecute you"
It bears repeating over and over again these people are not law and order, they are explicitly fascists, the are here to oppress people they can define as outgroups.
Spoiler!
