And conservatives are defending the renaming of the Navy ship because Milk was supposedly a pedophile who had sex with a 16-year-old. I can't find solid proof that he did but back then, when being gay often meant getting disowned, arrested, or even killed, young men and boys would seek out older men who were out. In order to intercept ICBMs, a US missile defense shield would probably need to intercept them in outer space.

Israel is a geographically small country defending primarily against small short range rockets, missiles, and drones fired by non-peer opponents.

The US is a massive country mostly worried about ICBM:s and possibly missiles fired from submarines by near-peer opponents.

It only has to protect a small part of Miami though, the bit where Taco lives, who cares if Bismark gets nuked?

I think China has the right idea with this. You just make tens of thousands of small drones. Park them strategically, and fit with small, controllable and non combustible explosive devices. Then, if there is a chance of incoming missiles, you literally send up a blanket in the sky to intercept them.

Home grown and cheap.
