Terrible news, he helped me take hard things head on with his attitude. Legend on this site forever. I’ll miss him. Thanks for letting us know Reaper, we will help you remember your friend

I got to go to a game with him once, probably more than twenty years ago now, super nice and upbeat guy who loved the Flames and being around other Flames fans. His CP persona was otherworldly but in real life just a fun dude despite the hand the life dealt him physically.
RIP Joel

Years ago he posted he had an attendant ticket available for someone and I took him up on the offer. He made it a fun game and it was good to hang out with him for a few hours.

Only had the occasion to talk with him a handful of times, but really loved his posts and admired how he lived his life. Guy was a character and unafraid to be one.

I've been around here for a long time, lots of lurking, not a ton of posting. I remember seeing some of Joel's posts around here. He had a dark sense of humor that I certainly appreciated. Poor guy got a raw deal in life, I can't imagine how hard it was to be him. I don't live in Calgary so I never met him in person but love seeing what everyone wrote here.
I took a couple of hours and read the entire van thread, honestly I hadn't looked at it when it was actually happening. Had I seen it, I would've gladly donated to the cause and not had a second thought about it, and maybe even donated more just to spite some of those that were giving him a hard time. Whomever made the donation with the "thunderc*nt" comment, you're a damn hero!
I looked at the very last post in the thread and thought "fotze2 is a GIANT a**hole". I realize now that it was some dark sarcasm/humor there (again I do appreciate it) which is why I quoted your post here from page 2.
RIP Flames_Gimp (Joel), I really do hope that you are dealt a better hand wherever we all end up after we leave this earth......

Met him once. It was very awkward because I frankly have never known a disabled dude like that. Do I hug you, wipe your ass?
We PM'd lots. Goddamn.
He was not polarizing, he was awesome an unique. Virtue signaling posters thought he was polarizing. He had a unique view of the world shaped through his experience of living a traumatic and extremely difficult life. He's like 'I had a heart attack last week'. Posters couldn't understand he had a different lens to the world? And not appreciate it and learn from it.
I want more unique fataed up people in my life, not less.
His best line will forever be "You win some you luge some" when that luger died. Beautiful. Pretty sure he got suspended for that because that is a good call mods.

I seriously cannot find that thread, I'm getting old and am becoming more idiotic on all things computer. I do not remember what that post was I made but I bet it was in the spirit of saying fata you to people who didn't know his situation fully so smart people would get it and dumb people would be offended. Can someone point me to that thread?

Sorry my memory is a bit faulty and maybe will be forever which is totally depressing I’m finding out. I did search but there’s a lot of van being typed here go figure. I did find it and yes it was good. Was totally tongue in cheek saying he made the disability thing up to scam us 15 years later for 64 dollars in an ill executed van sticker scheme.

Always appreciated his humour. Kind of a shame others didn't. His wheelchair gif was an alltime classic.
I'll always remember him as the guy that sold way too many things on buy n sell. Need a drill? He's selling one. Need a home security system? Yep. Got that too. I always wondered what his house was like, was it under constant construction? Was it a sweat shop full of kids making wallets?
RIP man.

It’s a pretty great thread all in all. A great read from start to finish. Thanks for the gift FG.

The best posts are the ones about missing MMF when he was actually posting in there all along, and showing more reasons why no one should miss his posts.

To be clear it was a walking stick figure throwing the wheelchair stick figure dude out of his chair then beating him to death with his own chair. It's that extra little bit of depravity that was FG's personal trademark. lol
