It doesn't look like Maple Ridge or Williow Park to me. Neither use white sand that is in the picture.

Wonder if it's one of the courses on Dunbow rd, just outside the city linits. I suspect it's Heritage Pointe.

Perhaps the picture is a stock shot of the equipment?

I shot a PM off to Buzzard to ask him to clarify.

That makes sense as well, haha. Would explain that hill and the odd looking desert in the background.

Some people are just generally interested in what's going on in our atmosphere. Some pretty crazy things can happen up there. I think it's pretty interesting myself but it's not something I've gone to the lengths of studying about or anything. Some of us work outside too, like myself, and so we like to know how to prepare for the next day or even if we should bother preparing at all.

You know I was just thinking about this and every time something like this is called for, you still always see people out there walking around when the storm hits. You just know they didn't check the weather. So yeah, there's another good reason for people who don't check the weather to start doing so.

The forecast today Burninator is calling for you to wear your light jacket.

Looks like a short sleeve shirt day Burinator.

It's hotter than hell Burinator, wear your banana hamik.

Is that so hard to ask?
I'd have to say any of those scenarios would be impossible. It would be more like this:

Looks like a fleece morning Burninator, followed by a conversion to shorts near noon with a side of t-shirt now and then. Bring a hard hat for when the hail hits, as well as pants when walking through the ice cold air after the storm. By late afternoon however, we will be back to shorts weather but don't forgot to bring the mosquito repellent. Evening forecast will include khakis with a mix of golf shirt. If heading indoors without AC, I suggest pants that have the zip-off legs. Overnight, expect to sleep in the buff in order to increase your chance of getting any sleep at all Burninator.

They updated the Severe Thunderstorm Watch about 10 minutes ago.

http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/warni...rt_e.html?ab12

At 5:00 PM intense thunderstorms are occurring in Clearwater county and near Cremona. These thunderstorms are slowly tracking to the east. Loonie size hail has been reported with these storms. Heavy rain and large hail are expected.

If you look at the radar, it appears the one that's hitting Cremona just developed suddenly withing the previous 30 minutes to EC's lastest bulletin.

Bah. Looks like the storms are going to bypass Calgary again. I feel so left out.

Yeah that one that blew up near Cremona looks pretty sweet. The cells today seem to be developing rapidly and then just kinda maintaining and weakening. They've all been pretty slow moving too. I wondering if/when they get into more eastern parts of the province if they might gain in intensity. If not, well, very small areas around the core of the storms are being affected. If a town does get a direct hit it looks like it could be pretty nasty, but the chances are looking low.

Holy mother, that cell near Cremona developed loonie sized hail PDQ. It looks like its turning toward Airdire like the storms did last night.

Predictions? Looking at the radar, seeing the direction and speed, I say no later than 20 after 6 Airdrie's gonna get it.

I think it will be a bit later then that...if it makes it. These things are dying out pretty quick after an hour or two.

Annnnnnnd it died. BLECH. Crappy night. There is some sort of imaginary boundry on the Q2 that is keeping the storms at bay. Cant figure it out what it is.

Wow, these things pop up and then disappear very quickly. Looked like Airdrie was about to take 'er up the you-know-what and 20-30 minutes later it's completely gone.

Well, capped atmosphere. Dont expect anything unless it happens to cool off up there in the next couple hours (not looking likely).

Hey, thanks for taking a look at the site.

I wish I could take credit for that pic being in my back yard, but no golf course living for me yet. That is a photo from the manufacturers site. (guess I really should state that on my site ) The station is located in Acadia, right at the south end of Blackfoot, so it's a pretty good indication of conditions in most of the south end of town.
