What is the rationale for RB to give the place to Russell? That first incident just looked like racing. The second was not lol, but this could have long term ramifications

That should be a DQ for Max. That was really bad.

I’m not as much into F1 as you guys so my question is why did RB need to give up the place to Russell?

Max went off track and gained an advantage when Russell tried to pass him

I’m still watching so I haven’t seen many replays but that looked like Russell‘s fault. First looks suggests max should not have given the place back.

But Max proving he’s an immature ####ing moron once again. I hope he gets DSQ’d. What a child.

A 10s penalty? Are you ####ing kidding me? the stewards proving what a ####ing joke they are. He deliberately crashed into an opponent. I don’t care that there was minimal damage to Russells car and he was able to continue that has to be a DSQ.

Rosberg reminds me a lot of Villeneuve with his commentary. Amazing insight but he’s too abrasive and reactive. He needs to chill out. He did a great job with Bernie today. Referring to her when he didn’t know something and her strategy insight was the best it’s ever been. Especially in a race like this with different pit strategies and tire allocations.

Phenomenal result from Hulk. Sad Hamilton. Getting passed by a Sauber. Bad day for Williams. That red bull is underivable. If they didn’t have Max they’d be competing with AM. On that note, good for Alonso. We’ve now seen two consecutive races with a retirement due to engine issues. Both Mercs. Nowadays it’s odd to have anyone retired due to engine issues let alone Mercedes power units two weeks in a row.

There was only a sliver of a chance for Max to compete for the championship. This race proved he has no chance it’s a two horse race.

Makes no sense that it takes 8 laps for a safety car given the incident. Even accounting for safety concerns, there have to be better ways to do it, like letting lapped cars through way earlier. That incident was way off track.

It would be funny if RB sacks Yuki, only to have Hadjar decline the promotion to the big team. Will never happen, but Lawson seems to be back to himself in the Racing Bulls car, and now Tsunoda is struggling on the "Big Team."

It will be fun to see how unglued Helmet Marko gets after this.

They aren't going to win constructors anyway and my understanding is that for WDC points scored on any team count. I think it'd be interesting to put Max on the junior team for a race.

I don’t think they’d do it even if he was in WDC contention because it would make red bull look like a bunch of wankers.

Red Bull really pooched those calls at the end, though I can understand their thinking on each of them.

They probably thought there would be more than 6? racing laps at the end, but Max's softs were only 7 laps old. If you keep track position it'll probably still take a lap each for the McLarens to get past, in which time a little bit of field spread would open up, and maybe he'd be able to hang on without losing [m]any more positions.

Based on what happened further back, it could have worked out pretty well. Lawson stayed on old softs as the lead lapped driver.

Lap 61 restart:
P10 LAW 15 lap old softs
P11 OCON 16 lap old meds
P12 BORT 10 lap old softs

Everyone behind on fresh softs:
P13 ALO
P14 BEAR
P15 TSU
P16 SAI
P17 COLA

Lawson fully caught the crocodile so everyone was bunched at the restart. Only Alonso got by, so Lawson finished P11, Bort P12, and Ocon dropped to the back. Bearman also dropped to the back on the last lap, so maybe there was some chicanery and it was just a DRS train. Max's tires would have been 11 laps old at the restart, so you'd think he could defend as well as Bort.

And the other possibility they missed out on was a second safety car/red flag out of the restart...there might have been even fewer racing laps to worry about.

Sounds like Stroll had a temper tantrum after qualifying but definitely did not punch something to aggravate his hand injury

I would say not looking like a bunch of wankers doesn't seem like it's always a priority for various members of Red Bull management.

By the gods they really need to replace Lance Stroll at AM.
I know I know, it's Daddy's race team and he has his son locked into one seat in perpetuity. But what a terrible way to try and become a top team. Nieuwy can't make Lance a contender.

Very quick results...congrats to speede5 and 3thirty taking top spot this week. Both with 5 slotted and 8 top 10. Overall 3thirty has jumped into the lead over fleuryisgod with a 2pt lead.

I'm gone for 2 weeks. Enjoy the sun and Canadian GP.

Spoiler!
