Photo Enhancing Help
This is a long shot, with a capital long.
Stumbled upon the ticket stub of my first ever MLB game, like 5 minutes ago.
Dropped what I was doing to try and figure out the exact seat.
The ticket is from May 2, 1998. So 27 years ago.
The print is quite faded but thought *maybe* someone would be good enough with photo editing/enhancing tell me the seat info.
Any help is appreciated.

Can you flatten it under a piece of glass or something and take another? Gate, sec and box are tough to make anything out.

Isn’t it row 13, seat 25?

Ya, but if you look at the seat map:
https://www.mlb.com/redsox/ballpark/seat-map
There are 33 different grandstands, which are sections. So you need the number after grandstand, or perhaps the gate to narrow it down. Not all of them have 25 seats, which helps, but several do.

Looks like Gate A to me, which would be left field, though the gates don't necessarily correspond to where the seat is. And the grandstand seats don't have boxes, so the text there would just be "- -".
And like Fuzz mentioned, only some sections have 25 seats. So if you remember which side of the field you were on, you could narrow it down a fair bit. But figuring out the exact one would be tough, because I think the text is just gone.

Ah, true. The ticket price might also be an indicator. May have some UV visible printing on it if they can get a blacklight, might not have any additional detail though.

Another thing to keep in mind is they've done some big renovations to Fenway since the current ownership group bought the team in 2002, so today's seating chart might not exactly correspond to what it was in 1998.

From behind glass
I'm going to see if I can find a black light as well

On the closer view, it looks like it might be: GRANDSTAND / Gate A / Section 14 / Row 13 / Seat 25.

Yeah that looks like a 14 to me. Based on another ticket, it looks like the 1 should line right up with the seam on the jersey and that definitely looks like a 4. And section 14 has 26 seats in that row.

I wonder how opaque it is. Can you shine a flashlight or something from the opposite side?

That's got to be it. Looking at the view from Grandstand Section 14 Row 13 that lines up perfectly with my recollection. There 100% was a pole obstruction between the mound and the plate.
Green Monster was bigger than I imagined.
Pudge Rodriguez threw a pick off attempt to first where the ball went faster than I could turn my head.
My father's namesake came in as middle relief and John Wettland closed it out.
Thanks folks!

Fun story,
I posted the query here and on Facebook.
Classmate of mine pulled her ticket stub from the game which is in mint condition:
Insane that (a) you folks got the info dead on, and (b) she still had it
2025 is wild.
