Default Local Poker Tourney's?

Hey everyone. Since moving back to Calgary I have been looking for a good place to play poker and I am hoping someone can help me.

What I would ideally like to find is a casino that offers either sit and go NL Hold Em tourneys or at the very least a Casino that holds smaller planned tourneys with some sort of regularity(at least 1 per week).

I dont have much expierence with Calgary Casino's so I dont really know what I am dealing with - and I have no intrest in straight cash games so I am hoping there are some other options out there.

Cash casino has two daily tournaments

1pm with rebuys
730pm freeze out

here is their number for more information

243-2273

And why don't you like cash games?

I won $1500 this weekend playing 1-2 NL

Wow. Nice win! Which casinos have 1-2 NL in Calgary? How's the level of play?

ABS has it sometimes (more often then not they don't), and when they do its only one table

Elbow doesn't have it, so I never go there

Stampede has it but they're the casino that is the least busy so they're not open 24/7

Deerfoot I have never been to

Cash Casino is the place known for 1-2 NL games. Thats the only table they have (well, they have 2-5 NL too, but thats just 1-2 NL but higher stakes). If you wanna play some good 1-2 NL games, this is where you go. I would totally go more often, but the drive is just too long

Deerfoot runs 1/2 NL, as well as sometimes 5/5 NL.

ABS rarely has 1/2 NL running... but when they do, I hear that they have some weird rule about a 4bet cap. Like, if I raise preflop to 10, someone else raises 30 more, someone else 80 more, and I want to push all in for 200, I can't because of the cap. This is absolutely ridiculous, so I'd probably just stay away from ABS. I'm fairly certain this rule isn't in place anywhere else but I don't usually play live NL.

I'm a limit player and pretty much spend most of my time at Elbow. Elbow spreads 4/8, 15/30, and 30/60 limit (which sometimes turns into 5/10 NL or DC, or sometimes 50/100 limit). 8/16 games sometimes get going as well.

There is no 4 bet rule at ABS. I played there on Friday night for five hours and there were plenty of $200 all ins after a raise to $50
