All this work and if Shapo does win, the reward is a date with Novak lol

I knew there would be a point in this match where the French Open not having electronic line calling would come into play.

Also, you're not allowed to reach over the net to hit a ball unless it has bounced on your side of the court. Misolic clearly hit a volley on Shapo's side of the net and that gave him the break here in set 5.

How does the umpire refuse to get out of his chair and check the mark? Oh well, Shapo loses and Novak will dust Misolic in straight sets in the next round.

Tough to see Gael go out, but it does set up a mouth watering Jack Draper - Joao Fonseca match in round 3.

I did get up early to watch Victoria's match's live versus Qinwen Zheng and although Victoria lost 6-3 6-4, she played really well today. So much to like about her game and just a lack of experience prevented her from forcing a 3rd set. You could tell that her opponent was relieved that she was able to finish the match in straight sets.

Meanwhile, Holger Rune is telling the French crowd to quiet down, but using language that would not pass the swear filter on this site.

Watching the Rune meltdown. Serving for the 3rd set up 5-4, lost 7-5.

Rune survives in five sets and will take on Musetti next. Going with Lorenzo in that match.

With Leylah and Gabriel losing their respective doubles match earlier today, no Canadians are remaining at the French Open. Gaby Dabrowski suffered an injury at a warmup tourney prior tot he French Open ergo Erin routliffe partnered with Victoria Azarenka and they lost their first round doubles match.
Oh well, onto grass season for our Canadian heroes.

Fils has withdrawn. No Frenchmen left in the draw already when they had high hopes.

That's too bad, he's a fun player to watch. Bweh gets a walkover into the 4th round.
Edit: I just saw the draw for Saturday. I understand that Novak is the man and all that, but the marquee matchup is Fonseca vs. Draper. That should be on Chartier in prime time, not on Mathieu at approximately 5:30 am Mountain time.

So Jiri Lehecka won three more games that I would have versus Sinner just now. 6-0 6-1 6-2 for the Italian who won the first 11 games of the match.

Not that Jack Draper is a seasoned veteran, but as far as tour level experience is concerned, he's a wily old man compared to Joao Fonseca and it showed today.

Great comeback by Iga just now as she was down 6-1 2-0 to Elena Rybakina and ends up winning 1-6 6-3 7-5.

Lorenzo is a big favorite which is a bit of a surprise. I like Rune +4.5 games.
