Was about to say, that's the biggest slam (Canadian wise) on this map. They fact that Quebec hates the Bruins more than the Leafs now, should prompt a moment of reflection from Leafs nation

This is the result of endless Sportsnet propaganda and hate-mongering. I demand a Royal Inquiry.

I don’t hate either team and would cheer for whoever can win a cup.

Naturally the Flames would be most hated team in Alberta when Oilers fans probably outnumber Flames fans 2-1 over the province.

Bruins for NS seems odd.
Must be a case of the Canadiens and Maple Leafs splitting the vote.
PEI hating the Wildcats is awesome.
I'd love it if Cape Breton was carved out to hate the Mooseheads.
Although it'd be awesome if one place just randomly hated like the Sydney Swans of the AFL.

I only see four instances of reciprocal hate:
SK-MB
NY-MA
MI-OH
GA-LA

I really doubt the Sounders are the most hated team in BC.
Ontario has the right idea.

This right here. There have been tons of Oilers fans since the McDavid era, especially in Airdrie, Red Deer, and even some parts of Calgary now.

Yup. Bigger question is in about 4-5 years when the Flames are contending and the grease pigs are entering their next decade of darkness, are we gonna let all those fairweather pricks on the bandwagon?

Largely because when it comes down to playoffs or any other big moment, they're irrelevant.
Something like this...

Yes, that's what my big sports fan friend in BC said. Bruins and Oilers.

Seriously doubt Montana and Montana State fans have feelings about a program as inconsequential as Idaho. I would suspect North Dakota State might be more accurate

People in Vancouver care waaayyyy more for the Whitecaps than the Canucks this year. Caps are unbeaten in 14 various competitions and lead the league. Soccer is also becoming more popular in Canada due to recent Team Canada teams doing well and a Shifting demographic.
The cost of entry to play soccer is very cheap compared to hockey . I know alot of families that have kids that want to play hockey but the cost is prohibited for them so they are in soccer.

Oh yes. This is exactly what happened to me many, many years ago.
I'm a hockey fan, but I never played.

In the long run, the population of Calgary should far exceed Edmonton, and there will be more Flames fans.
