Umm, their only authorized spotting location is next to the runway that will be closed, thus nowhere near any of the arrival/departure action. Oh, and it's also a designated "Protest Zone", so enjoy the company I guess?

Not sure about other planes but there's a good chance we dont see VC25. If it's anything like Bush when G8 was here he'll just helicopter in from Montana

An MV-22 Osprey from HMX-1 would at least make it interesting for spotters (and speedier)

Bush flew into YYC, both 747's arrived here. Then he took the helicopter to Kananaskis.

Driving me nuts now lol, I had to google it. All I could find was a Reddit post saying both VC25's were in town but Bush was never on them. Who knows if that's true, not that it matters I suppose. Maybe it's just one of those things that's been parroted so many times it stuck in my brain

I remember hearing that at the time as well, if that helps your sanity at all.
This past season of Nathan Fielder's "The Rehearsal" dealt with aviation safety, specifically communication between pilot and first officer. It's a comedy show so a lot of the things he does are bits, including living as Captain Sully as an infant, but he seriously got his private licence all the way up to a 737 rating.
It's also an issue that pilots won't seek help for mental illness in fear of being grounded. The Youtuber Xyla Foxlin had her medical revoked because she had a temporary issue after changing birth control.
It would be weird if it takes a comedian to change the FAA's policies on mental health.

Not just the FAA. Same issues amongst pilots in here with Transport Canada and their medicals.
