I'm in the far NW, not much going on here. The sky to the north looks like it's clearing.

Funnel cloud sighting:

At 7:00PM radar indicates rotating thunderstorms moving eastsoutheastwards near Crossfield. There has been a report of a funnel cloud 3 km sw of Crossfield.

A hot and humid airmass persists over south and central Alberta. An approaching jet stream from the bc interior is expected to trigger thunderstorms along the foothills this afternoon and track east northeastwards. Should these thunderstorms form there is a good chance they will produce severe weather. Remember some severe thunderstorms produce tornadoes.

Looking at the Strathmore Doppler there looks to be a storm in the mts than could get to Cgy in 2 or 3 hours.

I'm up east of the airport...I'm wondering if I should somehow protect the roof on my convertible...put a blanket on it or something.

How far east? If just east... then it will probably miss you.

Wind just really picked up in Chestermere.. opened the windows wide and cooled the whole house down in a few minutes.

I figured you would have gone for sure. I even grabbed your cell number to keep you in the loop.

Things are moving pretty far east now. Not sure I really want to go out chasing that late tonight. Aidrie is about to get hit again. Pretty crazy night there.

Smaller planes or passenger jets? I am wondering if the seeders will get to the smaller cell that popped up in the last half an hour or so. It looked like it might hit us but it kinda turned and is headed right for Airdrie.

Looked like two passenger jets... one is in that last pic I posted.

Prob taking off in that direction, but turning at the right altitude. They were flying just west of where I'm seeing lightning.

hmmm...stuff building to the west of us now. Might not be as intense as the earlier storms, but they look to be heading this way for sure.

A little bit of rain here in the NE (Sadderidge, close to airport) The clouds don't look too nasty to me but what do I know?

My mom says it is storming like crazy in Airdrie right now. Quarter sized hail. You will all be sad to know that one of my mom's cats is absolutely terrified right now.
