The pathetically whiny takes that the series is over were bad enough, but those two posters both being completely unwilling to recognize and own those takes, speaks volumes.
The Stars were up 2-1 in the series last year as well. If they win the series I will be happy to admit I was completely wrong and had a terrible take.
Until then, I'm happy for today but still scared for the rest of the series.

The outstanding part the the whole high stick 'controversy' is that ESPN replay clearly showed the high stick. While RSN, with access to all same feeds, only showed a clip that doesn't show it very well.
Good job with pushing your fake news agenda RSN
If it is a fake head snap (don't think so) then that's no different from what the oilers do a dozen times a game themselves.
Figures they would have trouble taking their own medicine.
Regardless, doesn't change a 6-3 outcome so perhaps...pound sand?
It 100% wasn't fake. After the game with Osmak and Dorkis, they showed a clear as day slow-mo replay from a different angle and you can see Kane's stick blade literally pressed across Duchene's face. It happened fast in real time, but there is no chance that it didn't happen.

And now that all the angles are showing proof, they've switched to "ya well Mcdavid got slashed a lot and it doesnt get called, refs are rigging it against us"
Interesting how Draisatl throws the PK under the bus, but takes no responsibility for the giveaway on the first goal or just peeling away and leaving Seguin alone on the fifth goal.

The people who said this is only one game and mentioned the Kings had a 2-0 lead in the series failed to recognize in this game, the Pigs had a 3-1 lead and when the Stars turned it on the Pigs had no answer for. The Pigs let the Stars scored five, FIVE unanswered goals to get a come from behind win. That is just GLORIOUS!!!
How long with the 'pigs' narrative? Getting old, and no obvious connection to the oilers.

I believe the reference is "Grease Pigs" from the idea of a 'greased pig.'
But yeah. Its weak AF.
Rig pigs are a common name for oilfield workers. Edmonton has a lot of fans that work on oil rigs and are rig pigs. The Oilers dressed up as rig pigs for their entrance at the Heritage Classic. Grease has been associated with Oil and the Oilers for years, with names like Greasers being used regularly. Oilers are the name of workers that grease parts of a machine, primarily on a ship, and another for an Oiler is a greaser.
So both Grease and pigs have regular connections to the Oilers, even via the Oilers themselves.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
