Dallas is such a hot and cold team within a game and then game to game.
They can look out of it and then turn it on, or look great and then sputter again. Flames had control of the one game in Dallas until they didn't, a goal called back turned that tide. Same with the game here with 2 or 3 called back. Dallas then found a way back.
Been this way a few years now, though it matches up well with Benn and Seguin also play. Invisible until they aren't, and then go back hide for a few periods or games.

You know the world is righting itself when Oiler fans start probing into the officials and suddenly have a lot to say about the definition of a penalty.
I hope McDavid puts on his micro-managing hat next game and really gets in there to help them do their jobs.

Haha.
Curiously went from calling the series over not 40 minutes in, to now the narrative of it's just one game!

It really is one game. Dallas was badly outplayed, but Skinner let them off the hook by letting in a bunch of soft goals. Going to be tough for Dallas to win the series if Pickard is back soon. Not saying they can't do it, but it will be a challenge for sure.

The people who said this is only one game and mentioned the Kings had a 2-0 lead in the series failed to recognize in this game, the Pigs had a 3-1 lead and when the Stars turned it on the Pigs had no answer for. The Pigs let the Stars scored five, FIVE unanswered goals to get a come from behind win. That is just GLORIOUS!!!

Great start. Nice to come from behind and show the oilers the firepower. Just don’t want to repeat the kings series where the oilers seem to get better as the series go on. At least it’s a more experienced coach this time to manage the matchups . Stars also need to manage the game after the inevitable oilers whining to the league abut getting calls.
Now nurse, amber and Gazdic weighing in. Did the stars refuse to provide SN any media availability? Oilers are officially the maple leafs west. Just shoving the team down everybody’s throats.

I'm really happy tonight anyways, so don't care about your opinion regardless!

Exactly take your own advice...you called the series in the 2nd period

Good Lord. Pickard won because LA failed.. Not due to his massive saves.
Pickard high glove side for the win. Let him play.

Anything is possible, you can’t declare a series over after two periods, then try to declare it’s only one game after the game changes. You kinda lose any credibility you had. And I have a feeling if the oilers do happen to pull off a series win, they will be here faster then an oiler fan to say I told you so.

Pickard is an NHL level goalie... Skinner not so much.

It is nice to see the better team eventually impose its will over the course of the game.
Oilers are older and slower than last year's roster and don't have that PK anomaly this time. Would make no sense for them to just waltz into the finals. They're not that good when the other team actually challenges and plays at a high level.
We've only seen two teams turtle against them.

Skinner wasnt even bad, they are all point blank looks. That was a pretty decent game for him. Jake is better than he played tonight.

I stopped watching at 2-1. While eating dinner my gf mentioned it was 3-1 grease.
I had resigned myself that the Oilers were going to win the series 4-0 and win the cup.
Imagine my extreme euphoria when my gf next checked the score and it was 5-3.
I’m pretty sure I have the power to determine the series outcome. I watch, the Oilers win. I don’t watch, they lose.

Don't be like Oilers fans who put all the blame on Scapegoat Skinner. The whole team collapsed in the third and it was glorious.

I turned it on at the second intermission, saw it was 3-1, switched to “Border Security: Australia’s Front Line”. Just saw the final score, couldn’t be happier.
Also, Aussie border guards not happy if you have random bags of seeds or a suitcase full of Chinese cigarettes.

"lose any credibility I had" ooh yeah, you really got me there big fella
I hadn't taken into account how bad Skinner is... I mean I knew he was bad, but his ineptitude was far beyond what I expected.
So yeah, my bad for thinking he had returned to some level of respectability.
Stars still in trouble though if the Oilers get average goaltending. Either Pickard or their other goalie. Hard to see either option being worse than what they have now.

Oilers fans on social media calling Dallas the biggest diving team ever. The lack of self awareness up there in dumpsterville is astonishing.
