But NHLs goal should always be - Oct 1 to June 7 for the scheduling.
Starting the season Oct 9 is too late too.

Hoping that the depth of the stars shows up in this series. The kids Johnston, Harley, Heiskenen and, Bourque are all a year older. The biggest jump of the youngsters has of course been the growth in Harley’s game which has been evident especially in the 2nd half of the season and the playoffs and being the guy on defence in all situations especially with Miro out. The growth of the youth combined with the additions of Rantanen, Granlund and even Ceci/Steel should make the Stars a much tougher out. Come on Dallas, give us a big series win!

They are starting Oct 7 next season.
I can't see them making changes, you are more likely to see 2 more games added to lengthen the season. More money into the HRR pot.

The 2nd line has 2 goals. Their leading point producer has 2 goals in 32 playoff games.
The depth that keeps being talked about needs to start scoring. Not sure why they don't replace Duchene and put Johnston in his place.
