Paulie be honest...you would rather the Oilers win and say I told you so than have the "terrible Stars" embarass the Oilers and reach the finals wouldn't you.

I couldn’t care less about I told you so or if Dallas looks like #### winning against them.

I absolutely hate the Oilers I don’t think you understand. I have walked by multiple houses with those nasty flags up and it’s pissing me off to the point I’ve wanted to go and rip them off.

I was hoping it wasn’t the Stars that got them in the WCF but here we are. They need to get it done by any means necessary.

Winnipeg would've been a worse alternative.

Avs then Stars were probably the top preferences to line them up.

I mean who was picking Vegas or the Kings for the cup this season honestly? Both would have been a ways down the list. Dallas for me was a top team although I did have the Avs in 7. That series was the Western final for me...not just saying it now I thought and hoped the Oilers would be long gone and still felt that way.

Kings looked more poised for playoffs over the course of the season than Vegas did (but we were counting on Vegas' success against the Stink to carry over), but they had the yips against the Oilers, which was activated some time late in game 3. Until that point LA was treating the Oilers like they were any other team and were beating them handily.

Too bad they got in their heads and remembered the last 4 years.

Was very close to 3-0, which at that point could've been enough to give the Kings enough mental fortitude to close it out.

Rantanen bowl in the finals seems written in the Stars...

Taylor Hall winning the cup before the Oilers would also be very funny.

They have to shorten the regular season by at least 6 games.

It's stupid that the 3rd round can go into June. NHL hockey should not be played in June at all, let alone before the cup finals even start.

Hopefully Edmonton doesn’t play in June. May 27 should be their last game of the season.

But you have a better chance seeing the regular season being increased not decreased.

Thank goodness we don't have to listen to Monster truck this series.

No one would care about this finals but it would definitely be the best hockey from the "sicko hockey fan who will watch regardless of who's playing" perspective.

From the first overall “curse” to his team picking last would be quite the redemption.

That would be best case. Hope it happens but I won't be surprised if we have a Stanley Cup rematch.

The Stars also added Heiskanen and Robertson back into the lineup. Robertson looks less than 100%, but Heiskanen is back up to over 23 minutes a game. His presence is going to take the team to a higher level.

You had Vegas beating the Oilers in 5 games...so I don't think this narrative that the Knights weren't a good team is true.

Dallas needs to win this series, and should be motivated to win this series after losing to the Oilers last year. Plus lots of guys might see this as their best shot...Benn, Granlund, Duchene, Dadonov, Ceci...are all UFAs after this season. Johnston, Rantanen, and Oettinger all get big raises after this season that is going to eat into their depth.

I also think the Oilers know that for many of them this is their best shot at a cup.

With Draisaitl and Bouchard getting big raises next year, and then Ekholm and McDavid UFA the year after they know that this group will not be kept together after this season.

It's a coin flip IMO and probably the best shot to win a cup for both of these teams in their last 6 year windows - hopefully Dallas can come out on top this time around though.

Who said not a good team? I said not many were picking those teams for the cup. I said Dallas/Avs were the west final before the playoffs this isnt a recent take.

Heiskanen looks real good, a lot more electric of a player. He has been up in the play and killing plays. But it's really just the Rantanen and Heiskanen show right now the other players need to step up.

Matt Duchene has 2 goals in 32 games the last 2 playoffs, 0 so far this year. That has to change. It really is the Finns carrying the Stars right now.
