Crazy fan base. Fandom isn't rocket science yet they can't seem to figure it out. There are only extreme highs and lows there, nothing else.
During the Ballard days there’d be people in the crowd with paper bags over their heads. Hilarious, but it really made me wonder how people had so much time and money in their hands to waste.

Is it worth throwing away the future for a guy like that.

I do wonder if it’s time for them to start planning a Matthews trade and look at a rebuild.
Karlsson still got the offence. Defence he’s pretty mediocre. But that’s where if you pair him with the right guy he could be effective. For years they haven’t got a consistent guy running the offence from the back end. He’s bring that. Dubas and his head scout are the guys who drafted the leafs prospects and would likely want them. Again, not saying it’s the best out there but we know he’s available and to me he’d be a good fit.

The Leafs only have two prospects, Brad traded two of their top prospects and 2 first rounders for Laughton and Carlo.

The only Karlsson trade that could happen imo would be a Reilly for Karlsson swap. Leafs save 3 years on the backend of the Reilly deal. Either way I doubt they want Karlsson, it is not the type of dman that Brad picks up.

If that's the case, please campaigned hard for Grease Pigs to win.

The comment by Marchand is interesting he said Toronto was better defensively yet they gave up 26 goals in 7 games. Scored only 17 shutout twice.

Terrific feeling. 58 years and counting. Love watching the hockey universe lose their minds yet again.

Taking a step back and thinking about things; how many people are going to lose their jobs because Mathews can't put the puck in the net in games 5, 6 & 7?

Matthews did score the winner in game 6, though.

Don't fret, next season all their fans will say "this is our year" all over again. Toronto Make Believes.

Why is there one clown wearing an Oilers jersey to a Toronto/Florida game?

What. An. Idiot.

I understand that hockey is a game of bounces and sometimes the Leafs have deserved wins and didn't get them. It happens.

But what really makes the fans pissed is they see other stars around the NHL elevate in the playoffs, but their stars don't. At the same time, they DEMAND top dollar and want to extract every last penny from the club.

I'm happy to continue to watch them flounder. It's all talk, pomp and circumstance. Meanwhile, you have guys like Zito or Tulsky or Nill who actually make bold moves to make their teams better. Leafs management just talks.

Chris Johnston on what he's hearing about the Leafs in the wake of the loss:

Quote:
Internally, the bar ownership had set for progress on this Leafs season was an appearance in the Eastern Conference final, according to league sources. Toronto fell one win short of that benchmark, albeit in dispiriting fashion — with a pair of 6-1 losses to the Panthers at Scotiabank Arena in Games 5 and 7.
The way that series ended has left ownership disappointed and embarrassed, according to sources. As close as the Leafs were to taking a meaningful step from previous seasons, the way they lost made it feel a little farther from reach.
However, when it comes to determining Shanahan’s future and the hierarchy of the team’s hockey operations structure moving forward, ownership recognizes the need to take a methodical approach.

Quote:
Further complicating the path forward with Shanahan is the fact that the New York Islanders have expressed interest in speaking to him about their top hockey job, according to league sources.

Quote:
While Shanahan’s future with the club is still being determined, there is a positive internal view on the job Treliving has done in his first two years as GM. He’s under contract beyond this season.
