Not in Calgary anymore obviously but it was neat to see Nanaimo's Commercial St appear in the last episode.

I guess my point was that the Rotten Tomatoes measure which you could say matters just as much, which is audience perception of the show, has fallen from 87% in season 1 to 40% in season 2.

My brother and his girlfriend never played the games but enjoyed the first season. He just told me that they may not finish season 2 so there's definitely a group of people that simply don't care for the direction of the season.

I don't hate Bella Ramsey, but ultimately for me it was a casting error given that they knew the entire plot from day 1. You know she has to carry the entire show for a significant duration of time, and for me Ramsey is not a strong enough actress to do so.
I'm finding this season pretty entertaining. Do have to suspend disbelief a lot though. The revenge motivation is just getting over the top. They have a kid on the way. They know that Joel killed everyone in a hospital, including the targets father who was a doctor. The Wolfs have their own troubles with the disemboweling cult. They keep having ultra close calls on the perimeters, but continue to think an assault on the main base is a great idea. I mean....at a certain point you just go home.
The cult and the "smart" infected all seem a bit a silly too. Something better suited for a video game, where you need to make the bad guys harder at later levels. The idea that these crazies can consistently take down trained soldiers armed with assault rifles and body armour using bows and arrows. The smart infected idea kind of takes away from what made the fungal infection cool. It was a somewhat science based idea similar to cordyceps infecting ants and forcing them to walk to the top of trees. Giving the fungus intelligence beyond that is a bit silly.
Anyways, overall the show is still very entertaining. Just lacks the air of reality the first season had.
I don't remember how I felt after playing the game, but I remember the game being outstanding. I get the sentiment a lot of people have expressed the last few weeks, however. I've heard it from my own family.
Was Pedro Pascal that big of a draw? Sure seems so. Or was it the character of Joel giving golf clubbed to death that turned so many people off.
I would urge people to stick with it, then form your conclusions on the season as a whole. That's just how I roll.
There's only two episodes left this season too. People might as well just finish off the season and decide if they want to continue after seeing the season finale.

Of course they watched.

This episode pretty much solidified that Pedro Pascal and the dynamic between Joel and Ellie is 100% what makes the show actually work and makes it more than the typical violent zombie fare.
I wasn’t a fan of that episode. Everything that happened was already inferred from Ellie saying I know in the last episode.
It didn’t need to be said Joel’s selfishness rather than giving Ellie agency was already litigated last season. Thematically this season has been all over the place
