But Treliving has always wanted the land the big fish which he couldn't when he was in Calgary. Now that he's in the big market, if he has a chance to possibly land that big fish, he'll push hard.

He always ends up overspending on garbage like Neal and Hamonic or more recently Laughton and Carlos

It does feel like the Leafs have to totally rebuild. The mix is wrong in a bad way. Not even Berube could get anything out of that roster.

Marchand and Marner became friends at Four Nations. I'm sure it was tough to hear the boobirds out for Marner in the third period. How often do fans boo one specific player on their own team? Deserved or not that's pretty harsh, to single out your frustrations on one player.

Id say retool rather than rebuild. They need better puck moving defensemen and less big money forwards. But it's a retool rather than a tear-it-down rebuild

Should have traded Marner for an elite puck moving defensemen.

Their 2nd leading scorer in the playoffs. Maurice said similar.

Are hockey players the softest athletes in pro sport? You don't hear Yankee players complaining about too much pressure, Lakers, Cowboys, etc.

Panthers have beat two tough opponents and hurricanes have easily beaten two easy opponents. Seems like a tough match up to gauge. I think it goes 6 or 7, but either team could win

Further proof that idiot has no idea how to build a winner and should have been canned as the Flames GM long, long ago.

I guess Berube will be fired soon as well.

I actually thought those were good acquisitions by Treliving. He got two players with low cap hits with some term. It makes sense on a core-supplementary standpoint. The ones to blame for this are Matthews, Marner, Nylander, and Tavares. Bonus points for Rielly too. The players signed in the offseason and acquired did decent. The core is rotten, and changes need to be made. I doubt Berube is fired.

2004 game six vs Tampa. I was there, and it was bad.

If you don’t think the same complaints exist in those markets your aren’t paying attention .

And I don’t think the players usually complain. The talking heads and fans mostly mention it

In 13 games played. Carlo and Laughton combined for 2 pts and -7. Brad "Wizard" Treliving inherited a roster covered in elite talent and all he has managed to do is what he's always done as a GM - spend assets on "win now" pieces that do nothing.

He's also about to lose his star left winger for nothing. That should sound awfully familiar if you're a Flames fan.

I'm shocked he has a job because he's worse than Mike Millbury

Yeah I’m not sure you should be comparing the Leafs to the Yankees and Lakers. Even the Cowboys have four or five Super Bowls and like ten conference titles since 67.

If any NHL team is the Yankees, it’s Montreal.

The Leafs have now scored a total of 7 goals in their last 6 game sevens. There’s no way to sugar coat it - their big guns are not big-game players.
