Heh. My wife definitely abuses our knives. I was a little flustered when I caught her using the nakiri to cut pizza on top of the aluminum tray and smashing garlic with the edge. I was wondering why it went from sharp to slipping off an onions when trying to cut through it.

I've started buying knives from Knifewear, and our general purpose knife went years between sharpens. I took it back to them after it's first couple years of use and they said it didn't need anything beyond a hone yet. I think it was after 4 or 5 years that it finally needed more than its regular hone.

I have no doubt many people would die horrific panic filled deaths if this was available to the general public, but it's still pretty cool.

Some of the last discussions were knives. I picked up those rolling knife sharpeners for around $40 and they work decently good. Basically it's just using a diamond plate vertically vs horizontally.

Something like this:

https://www.amazon.ca/Sharpener-Roll...s%2C151&sr=8-7

I still like whetstones better, and I kinda find the amount of passes with the rolling I need to do a lot because the pressure isn't as high. The rolling sharpener can only do shorter knives, so certain naikiri or cleavers can't be done with it. But for a complete newbie/moderate user of knives, this is great set for basic knife sharpening vs those ceramic pull sharpeners.

I for one am interested in seeing what happens if it runs out of juice mid-flight.

The second video, where the woman cuts meat with the knife after sharpening it isn't exactly a selling point.

Darwin needs an upgrade, we are keeping far to many morons alive with health and safety, this would go some way to rebalance things

I didn't notice a video like that? But I just pulled a random link. I didn't get the one in this link. My bad if it's a crappy ver of this product.
