A&W absolutely sucks balls moreso than any other fast food place with one exception: bacon, eggs & toast for breakfast can sure hit the spot.

What Sliver just said was exactly my first thought. Driving through a small town and your choice is BP's, A&W, or the IGA that's already closed for the day in the late afternoon. I know my choice

Every small town has a chinese restaurant that makes everything.
I suspect with BP everything is made in Mississauga, frozen, and reheated at the restaurant?
AI Overview
Yes, Boston Pizza restaurants often use frozen pizzas. This is a common practice for franchises to maintain consistency and quality across different locations. Many restaurants, including Boston Pizza, use pre-made or frozen ingredients to ensure a uniform product and to make operations more efficient.
Why do we eat at chain restaurants when we know full well how bad they are?
Clearly there is something appealing about multiplex-scale hockey games at rock-concert volume and cataracts of frozen food microwaved to order

BPs might have been good once, but it is glorified microwave food now.
Pretty wooden and soggy.

Y'all are sleeping on "Western & Chinese" food. Every good town has a place that serves that. 100 times better than ####ing BPs

Small town Inns will usually have a surprisingly good restaurant. Usually littered with old people, but there's always someone cooking some awesome old time Ukrainian dishes and great pizzas and burgs.

No way on the burgers. They're always frozen meat patties and old buns from the local IGA.
Can have some good pizza, but everything else in some sht-hole inn is total garbage.

I am beyond picky when it comes to burgers, guy. I wouldn't get one at BPs, either. I don't eat them at Brewsters. I'll barely eat them anywhere, but for the ones I like I'll go to a ton of effort to eat.
Once drove all the way to Whitefish, Montana because I was craving Fuddruckers. Made the dumb mistake of telling the border guard the truth of why I was going - to get a burger - and he didn't believe me so tore my car apart and had a drug dog sniff me down. It was nuts.
There's a burger at a dumpy little restaurant in Moyie, BC I love. I'll drive six hours there with my trailer and camp for a couple nights just to eat this burger.
Five Guys is great for a fast food burger.
Rocky's Burger bus is awesome.
If I'm at somebody's barbecue and they're serving "homemade" burgers, but they're really just frozen patties I'll excuse myself, drive to a Wendy's or something for a spicy chicken sandwich, wolf it down, then go back to the barbecue. I will not eat a frozen garbage burger no matter what and I don't care who I embarrass (including myself) to avoid it.
A bad burger pisses me off so hardcore. Do it right or don't do it at all.

So odd, such high standards for burgers (word brother) but seemingly such low standards for the rest of what BPs serves.

I used to go to BP's in Riverbend all the time because it was on the way home from the Soccer Centre and it was open late because we always had late kickoff times and we'd all go as a team.
First of all, as btimbit mentions, their beer is always cold. And as Sliver and others mentioned the Meateor and Perogie pizzas were always good.
Overpriced? Maybe. But the beer is cold, the food is hot and they're open late.
Fun tale, after most of a Team Pitcher...to myself...someone had brought a Segway into the BP's bar. They are not as 'un-tippable' as they proclaim to be and I proved it!
To the detriment of 1 table and several chairs.
Thankfully the owner of said Segway and the bar manager thought it was hysterical and as such there were no consequences to anything but my overall wellbeing, but I was young, so whatevs.

You are far more hardcore than I, but I used to work in an industrial park off centre street and there was this little dive bar called 'Three Coyotes' and they served the Coyote Burger.
That was amazing. I mean...going there for lunch was a luxury because...while that burger was insanely delicious...after one of those and going back to work? It was naptime.

Just an FYI, there's a FuddRuckers in Saskatoon. If you want to save the border crossing hassle in the future and replace it with the second most boring drive in the history of the world (Calgary to Regina is #1).

K, but it's not like BPs is my go to for a night out with friends and family or whatever. I just happen to be able to acknowledge it's 100x better than all you NPCs give it credit for. They have some genuinely good stuff.
And it's funny their cold beer has been mentioned a couple of times. Couldn't agree more. I often don't drink beer with a meal because I just don't think food and beer go that well together (not including wings). At BPs, though? Their beer is magic. Love it.
Will check out Our Place. I think I might even be driving through Kimberley this summer...if so I'll absolutely go. There's no way I won't forget the name of it, though, so expect a PM in July at some point if we're there haha. I will be genuinely annoyed if the burger sucks, FYI.

Yeah, I know, but thank you. I was there six times last year. Still love it, but sad they changed the potato wedges into boring-ass fries.
I always bring home a bunch of patties and buns when I'm there, too.

Oh, here are a couple of pics of some Fuddruckers burgers I've enjoyed. I usually just put the bruschetta on and nothing else, but looks like I got crazy and added lettuce for some reason. In the one pic it looks like I have ketchup and mustard for dipping the fries, but the mustard-looking stuff is actually their warm squeeze cheese.
