Maybe Tanev can convince him how nice Albertans are and they will leave him alone, everything that Toronto isn't.

Still want no part in Bennett coming back to the Flames unless they trade Kadri

At least Calgarians. The Edmonton media (why are you so pissy?) and fans (jersey tossing and the gauntlet of booing fans) can be really bad.

Yes. They are a bit of click bait. Fans like to read about their own team.

1-2 of Bennett and Kadri? I can understand the concern of age/dollars on both fronts - but the type of players they are?
Outside of tanking (which won't happen), that'd be about the best/most entertaining 1-2 punch I could realistically picture for the Flames next year.

Flames fan base is easy to rile up when it comes to signing vet UFAs. Most other teams fans would be excited with a Marner rumor, even bad teams.

I can't see why Bennett would come back to the Flames. Plust Bennett is the final piece for a perennial playoff team on the cusp of winning the cup where they give him the big deal fully knowing there will be long term pain. Flames are just trying to make the playoffs.

For me, Ehlers would be the poster child for 'player you shouldn't sign as a plan B after missing out on Marner.'

The issue is that is still a pretty bad 1-2 punch and Bennett will be expensive and I don’t think he’ll hold up that well. If they get Bennett they may as well get Rossi as well and go all in on a mediocre centre core.

Why? Having two centres like that would be fun to watch.

Probably a 0% chance it happens but Huberdeau - Bennett - Marner would excite me very much
I dunno, maybe money + wanting a quiet city to raise a family + current political climate in the US + Conroy's powers of persuasion can make it happen, haha

Once you put Weegar back, that looks like a fun team to watch.

It would be a horrible move to have ~30 million of your cap space tied up in 2 wingers with no prospects of having a high end first line center between them. This is an especially bad idea when one of those 2 wingers will almost certainly never come close to providing the offensive output that his contract would imply.
