They shouldn't be rewarded for such nonsense. I hate to wave the conspiracy flag but it's so convenient.
Raps drop two spots to 9. Pretty bad place to be. They really should've tanked better.

No it's clearly the conspiracy angle here lol, Nico gets rewarded for giving Luka away to the Lakers. Now it's time for some prime WWE attitude era swerve and Luka refuses to re-sign in LA and heads back to Dallas as a UFA, with AD and Flagg awaiting.

As far as God Bless America goes, it is amazing that a country as morbidly obese as America is can have cities that are specifically known for being fat. Like how ####ing fat are those places that they are considered fat even by American standards?

The 3 teams with the 3 best odds all fell out of the bottom 3. There is a conspiracy angle you can make for the top 3 teams that got it. Dallas is obvious. Spurs, the league wants a team around Wemby. Sixers wouldve lost their pick if outside the top 6, big market team and with Embiid injury history they want another star there. Crooked refs, crooked owners, crooked league.

Bucks were gonna be good bets to get the #1 pick next year anyway, but if they make the approved trade for Giannis it'll be a done deal.

Full credit to Silver though. He must have gone back to his office in late January, knew the ratings were trash and fan interest was waning, saw a picture of David Stern and got the inspiration he needed. He's still not even close to Stern's level, but this is a start. Let's see what he has in store this summer.

LeBron leaves Cleveland, the Cavs get #1. LeBron wants to go back to Cleveland, Cavs get #1 to trade for Love. LeBron leaves for LA and brings AD, Pelicans get #1. LeBron gets Luka, Mavs get #1.
You can go back even further with Ewing to the Knicks, D Rose to Chicago with 1.7% odds, AD to the Pelicans after they got new ownership, but the NBA just has a ton of coincidences I guess. Nothing to see here

I mean, the Raptors did try to tank with the lineups they were putting out... unfortunately they had the easiest 2nd half schedule in the league, and the teams below them were even more shameless. And 3 out of the bottom 4 teams are picking 5, 6, and 7 anyways - including the last place Wizards.
Funny enough, the Raptors would be picking #2 instead of the Spurs if they won a bit more
Masai did a nice job with last year's draft crop, he should be able to find a good player at #9

The good news is since we now know the score, if they stay stuck in mediocrity for another season or two they can always call Silver up and offer Barnes for a couple used sneakers and the #1 overall pick of that draft and it's all good.
