If your minimum is spending to the cap, and letting the team facilities fall to last in the league while you wait for a government bailout to build facilities for your team...
Well I think there is a very good chance you'll like the new ownership group.
He's the longest serving owner in the NHL now, and our team success hasn't been there, on the ice or off the ice. Let's see what someone new can do with such an incredible asset.

You may not like Murray, but there is nothing wrong with the ownership group.

Our new ownership group has a small chance of including Ryan Reynolds, shooting a documentary on the turn around, and building a Wrexham like aura around the team.
Another group may be focused on the long term marketability of engaging their fan base and building around superstars obtained with draft capital.
Even some property developers that are only interested in the development opportunities around the arena with hotels, entertainment, etc could buy the asset to build a conglomerate empire.
Frankly...this year was a bit of a proving ground, with the salary cap, and the youth movement that expansion drives, if we got the nightmare owner that wouldn't spend to the cap and cut all services to the bone (which would look similar to the current team in my opinion). At least they'd want to eject large salaries, and go with youth through the draft.
Anyway...I'm open to opinions, but my calculus lands on anyone is better at this point. Oh and I like Murray fine, running a resource company, where lowest cost wins. Lowest cost entertainment isn't my idea of fun though.

Disliking current ownership because maybe Ryan Reynolds buys the team and films a documentary is....an opinion I'll give you that.
You're second is just a vain way to say "tank and rebuild". And the team has draft capital and at least 2 budding superstars in Wolf and Parekh. What you really mean is tear it to the ground rebuild and I can guarantee many fans don't want that either.
You mean property developers like being the anchor of a new entertainment district? They're literally a key cog in what you want in the 3rd point.
I have no idea what the rambling in the 4th paragraph means at all TBH so I don't know what to say there.

Your calculus? Jeezus Christ. That is some mega full of crap language. Do you have an MBA by chance? At the end of the day on a go forward basis. We can take this offline.

Anyway...back on topic. We can circle back and look for some synergies later.
The arena deal is moving forward and shovels are in the ground. Should be a fun election in October.

This really seems like people are overthinking things, and/or overreacting.
Many elections are in part referendums on decisions that have already been made, it's extremely normal.

If its 11% done or what ever, that has no bearing on the cost already spent,
Would bet its way higher than 11%

Did you mean to post this on AO3? You know because it's fan fiction?

Me being pedantic: Council approved a deal that was presented to them by their negotiators, CAA ICON. Everyone on council voted yes to the deal.

Agreed, I thought he done quite a bit to redeem himself and his image the past 4 years.
But who knows, there's a lot of runway left in the civic election of course I'll still be keen to see what he brings to the table.

The design work is probably near complete and procurement of materials. That’s a big chunk.
