Three episodes in and really like it so far. Except for the subtitles, they are small and hard to read.

Hahaha! This reminds me. Momma bought us tickets to Def Leppard, Journey and Steve Miller band concert at Wrigley this summer. When she told me I'm like wow bunch of senior citizens on stage and in audience. She's like don't worry, it starts at 5:30pm

 Rinse and repeat.

Plus, I can only read a TV show for so long. I prefer to double task. Like, what if Wormius says something mind blowing that must be addressed right away and there I am with my nose buried in a TV show instead of monitoring CP?

My wife and I are (i'm going to bet) double pretty much many people's age here...and we immensely enjoyed the show. Yes, reading AND staying awake, ha ha!

Given that we watch a lot of international movies and series anyway (Mhz choice eg) subtitles aren't much of a problem.

Shogun was surprisingly well done, understated and the actors (as well as writers, creators and production crew) apparently worked tirelessly - some for 10 years - to get the constumery correct, the languaging, walking, fighting and sword techniques absolutely right.

Well worth watching IMO.

Finished it up last night. I really enjoyed it, I think those going in looking for non-top Samurai action were going to be disappointed, it was definitely the personal relationships and politics that were the focus, and I quite enjoyed that.
I'll need to read the book now too, I always like seeing the differences from source material to TV/Film adaptations.

This is rare. As brilliant a cinematic achievement of this first season was, I really have no interest in suffering a second season.
 10 episodes was enough.

I’m definitely in. I’m leery that there’s no way they can deliver, but I’ll give it a shot!

Why wait so long... It wont come out until 27 then? I will have forgotten about it by then lol, almost have now. And one of the best parts of the show is no longer there.
