Francis over a 5.20 Era, a full run+ over the other 3 main starters. And he seems to give up things in bunches (ie one inning, like today) though last game he gave up 5hr.
Hopefully one of the new players they signed off the proverbial street with take the 5th spot and push Francis' 4th spot.

Lost last 10 of last 14. And some of those wins had a fair bit of good fortune, late. Sure yesterday was a late inning loss, but as mentioned, the starters are asked to work long and all have ERA under 4 (except Francis) and bullpen has also been good.
Was same last year as the bullpen fell apart in June because they were overused in April and May...happening again.

It was just never a good team to begin with. We always get excited about a couple decent signings each off season, bit end of the day we don't properly address hitting or bullpen each off season and just hope that something will click.

Schneider isn’t a great coach but half of the batting order is made up of major league caliber hitters. Atkins has handed him a ####ty lineup.
Santander was never going to be the guy who would revolutionize this lineup. The overwhelming response when he was signed was “happy to have him but we need at least one more big bat to really move the needle.”
Time and time again Atkins has half assed it with this team. Whenever they needed two or three things to be competitive, they’d overpay for one thing once it was too late. As a result, we have a bloated payroll without a clear competitive window.
