I never thought I'd see the day when Australia hosted a hockey tournament.

Anybody know if Hockey Canada will be streaming these pre-tournament games?

That's a good amount of Flames that will be in this tournament which is awesome to see. No surprise that Huska is part of the coaching staff as he's almost certainly seen as a solid coaching mind within the hockey community given what he was able to accomplish this year with the Flames. Good to see him rewarded for this past season and he'll pick things up from the Team Canada coaching group that he can bring back to the Flames.

I watched the second period and Parekh impressed. Initially he looked tentative and way too passive in his own zone. But he got a few puck touches early and started to grow more involved in transition as well as o-zone. He picked up an assist on the 4-1 goal where he received the puck at the right point, feigned a shot on net, skated down below the goal line and behind the net with confidence, then found Cuilley (sp?) in front of the net. Most of his passes are connecting and he actually made two very astute defensive plays before the goal.

He is playing with Sanheim on what seems to be their top pair. He didn't play on the powerplay, which was too bad even though it makes sense. Canada is starting to find a bit of chemistry it seems, because the first part of the second period was rough.

I thought he looked good as well, but it seemed there was a lot more time and space out there compared to an NHL game. There were also a couple of times where Parekh seemed almost a bit casual with the puck at the offensive zone, they'll need to get those out of his game at the NHL level. I really liked his passing, skating, and overall play.
