Dude. If I’m reading correctly, you are nervous? It is easy as F. Like a cavity filling, but in your ballsac. The tugs hurt if your tube gets lost back into the sac,

Stop being nervous about it.

Oh ya the first bloody gizz is off pudding.

Not at all nervous. One story gave me the heebies, didn’t add nerves. Don’t want pain because I ain’t got time to lay around, good to know I should at least be prepared for a slower couple days.

Good luck man! It'll be fine. Wasn't trying to scare anyone. I just remember searching the internet trying to find out if what I was going through was normal or not. Thought I would post my story in case anyone else was in the same situation.

I'm coming up to a year now and STILL have a hematoma in my sack. Its down to about a grape size now but still clearly there. Hasn't really affected any part of my life - just an annoyance really.

Still have yet to meet anyone else that this has happened to so there's that

Surgery was a breeze. So much so that I probably ####ed around too much on the weekend. Some stuff needed to be done… I wasn’t trying to be stupid. Anyway, today sucked ass and it hurts like a bitch (day 5) so I’m full rest mode today. Those thinking initial rest is important seem to be on the money.

For me one of the next ones was I'd often hop out of a car or off a an extra step without much thought... And then I'd be like (-_-')

Yeah don’t do a Costco trip for a week or so after the snip. I did one with the wife on day 2 and I had to take a few breaks and lean on the cart for a breather.

I do recall the Vasman, it was in 2019 a few months after our second daughter was born. I remember the process being fairly quick and eventless, but the day after felt like my nutsack was carrying anvils.

I do recall it being very unpleasant experience for those 24-48 hrs, frozen veg packs for relief helped btw. But of course, it was worth it. There is no way I wanted to get to 3 kids, two daughters perfect for our house capacity, SUV capacity even, what I can afford for RESP's, etc.

Happy with 2 and a family of 4. Didn't not want to mess with that in 2019. Considering the time since then (income wise), really glad we went with that decision.

How has technology not advanced yet where it's quick and painless and the recovery is instant.

Yeah, it was uneventful. It's just recovery that's the hardest. But there's plenty of people who aren't helping themselves either. The aide complemented the fact I was wearing loose pants with compression shorts as per the instructions. I was baffled commenting I was just following instructions.

"You'd be surprised at the amount of people who show up in boxers and in right skinny jeans."

He's right. I could not imagine.

Because our body's ability to fuse and regenerate in recovery hasn't evolved to match the speed of the technology? It'd be awesome if the recovery was that fast though.

I waited too long from my first consult (2023) and had to go back in again. Now I'm booked in for October - hopefully I catch a cancellation before then. 3 kiddos are enough for this guy.

Don’t move for 2 days. Just chill. Even if it feels fine. It’ll make the next 2 weeks much easier. I did all sorts of stupid #### and paid for it.

This is one of the rare times you have a free pass to do absolutely nothing around the house for several days. I don't know why anyone would not take full advantage of that.

I think most people think that the initial part was so easy that the rest should be fine. Unfortunately it's that initial 2-3 days where you could easily end up doing something to extend your recovery by 2-3 weeks or months.

For icing, cheap bags of peas and corn is all anyone needs. Don't need to buy any fancy ice packs like I've heard others do. I'd also recommend wearing the jock and/or compression shorts as much as possible.

Honestly? My wife was more militant than I. TBH, sometimes I just wanted to help with the most basic of things to not feel like I was a complete burden and useless blob. Some of it was as simple as getting up to throw away garbage or going down some stairs to get a drink etc.

Completely innocuous at times, but I'd sorta feel slight discomfort or increased swelling afterwards. I didn't realize how often I move around for small things and how much the affected area is used as part of the muscle group that balances the body.

How do you end up in your 40's and not have fancy ice packs? Something like this has been a life requirement for me. Plus they are great in coolers and such. Multipurpose, unlike peas that go mushy and you are gonna throw out after anyway. At least I hope so.

I’ve never understood the suggestion to use food as an ice pack.

I'm not in my 40s and to me, the disposal is the point since it's the approximate correct size/shapeable and inexpensive. I threw it out ($2-3 a pack) after I was done. Inexpensive and effective.

Next time someone needs an ice pack to their face, I'm not going to be reminded of using that same pack on my balls for several weeks.

My wife even calls the small packs of frozen peas "crotch peas" now. It ain't the same package that was on my balls and it's annoying enough I just stopped buying frozen peas in general.

Vasectomy, great! But I don't need to relive the memory on the regular.

I bet you could sell those crotch peas on eBay.

So did you re freeze that bag of peas a few times or was it a one and done scenario?

Also why not wash a reusable ice pack? I’m not in my 40s either but I had a few ice packs on rotation and it was fine. Gave em a good scrubbing after each use and good as new.

I wouldn’t throw out (or even wash) a bath towel after every use, and that thing gets everywhere.
