A bunch of releases happened today it appears in WWE. Stroman, Bazler, Dakota Kai and a few others. Wonder where they end up. Could see Bazler in ROH or AEW perhaps (maybe in Japan) and not sure where Stroman and others end up.

Not a whole lot of surprises. Stroman I think is finished, he barely has any mobility left, and I think he lost his motivation. I'm not surprised that Bazler was released, but she could go to Japan, she might go and do Catch in Europe, but I have a funny that she'll show up as a trainer somewhere, she's an artist in terms of the little things. Kai, I was a fan of hers and her heel turn in NXT was excellent. I wonder if she'll reunite with Tegan Nox who appears to be going to AEW. The big surprise is Cora Jade who is incredibly talented and young,

The only thing is she has trouble staying healthy. But she's only 24 so she'll probably be back at one point.

I could see AEW bringing Shayna in for a one off or something, but hopefully TK stays away from most of that list.
Last time Strowman got released, AEW had zero interest and he seems even more washed now.

That's the common connection with many of the releases. Most are dealing with constant injuries, or in some cases never got over with the crowd (Bazler). I could see Cora and Dakota back one day as well, but with the returnees, NXT call ups, and upcoming draft there's a glut on the main roster.
On another note, the DQ finishes are becoming tedious. I was watching Knight/Priest on Smackdown and it ended in a DQ interference by Solo. I know it's the easiest way to avoid anyone from taking a loss, but they use that finish way too often. You can't elevate talent properly if matches often end up in stalemates. WWE needs more clean finishes in general, the majority of wins are due to cheating or outside interference (or end in a DQ). It doesn't hurt to have someone go over properly ever now and then.

^^Same with the Rhea/Roxy match on Monday. It was a banger and then they ruined it with the finish.

Nothing to add to the current discussion but met The Mountie and got to have several conversations with him tonight.
Good dude.
I'll post the video from the show when it's available.

Lol. WWE sure loves them their predictable, run-in, DQ endings.

It's true.
It's a bit of the problem with the product right now...but was also prominent in the Attitude era - so maybe not that surprising with HHH running the show.

Was thinking about this a bit tonight. I think the reason they got away with it so much during the attitude era was because Nitro was even worse for those types of finishes. As a result, we went decades thinking that those types of finishes were the only way to protect both guys. One of the benefits of the way AEW books is at least now we know that's not necessarily the case.

Weird part is when HHH was booking NXT back when NXT was probably the best brand in wrestling he didn't do all these dusty finishes and found ways to protect guys.
I'd actually say even current NXT is doing a good job of it.
Just seems like a bit of a trap that the booking team has fell into recently.

No he didn't do dusty finishes in NXT at all, and that's what made the special events so special, and even the weekly cards. They'd go to their conclusions.

2017-2019 NXT probably still remains the best stretch of wrestling from WWE and probably AEW in the last 15-20 years IMO.

Pretty amazing time, especially considering what options were available then. I’d still argue AEW 2019-2022 had some insane matches, and even last year they had a tear on PPVs. But lots of those guys cut their teeth on the Black and Gold. It was amazing because they used to have more freedom with their matches back then.

I think that we can say that his wrestling style and life style contributed.
It was a brilliant gimmick but he did things to his body that were in retrospect not needed.

Sounds like CM Punk is going to do the Saudi shows. What a massive hypocrite.
