I didn't know it was on GamePass.. and here I was just thinking of ending that so I could switch to Ubisoft for a while to play some games there. Installing now!!!
I didn’t know it was on Gamepass either or I would have tried it there first, but I’m glad I bought it to support an upstart developer.
The first boss destroyed me. Gotta get the dodge/parry timing down to defend his charged attack.
Speaking of Gamepass, mine expired so I foolishly bought three years of Core that’s only redeemable in India. VPN didn’t work so if anyone knows of a workaround that would be appreciated, or if anyone knows someone in India who wants Gamepass let me know.

Not sure what my friend did exactly, but he got a deal on CDkeys. He said the best way is to let your gamepass expire, and you can get better deals. Something like this anyway: https://www.cdkeys.com/12-month-xbox...pSuSkiGITZuzQZ
Then if you have a buddy you can share this subscription with a friend (preferably a solid friend as you'll essentially be able to log in under their account): https://www.howtogeek.com/774406/how...iple-consoles/
I had to let my old gamepass expire as well before doing it. However with this method, it becomes $90 a year each for 1 year

I did the CDKeys thing last time but I flew a little too close to the sun and tried getting it for $30 a year.
The Following User Says Thank You to DownInFlames For This Useful Post:
Yeah, might as well wait a year or two at the $60+ price point. Or twenty more years. To be fair, its a Bethesda game after all. Lol at those first comments.
Never good when a frame time graph looks like a cardiogram
A remaster so faithful even the performance problems carry over
Well it's getting solid reviews across the board so clearly the framerate issues aren't dealbreakers. Also hit over 4 million players in less than a week so it seems to be pretty successful considering it was a surprise release that didn't have any hype behind it.

I downloaded Clair Obscur last night and wow, what a game. Cool concept and some cool innovations to the genre. I'm not far and I'm still figuring out the parry/dodge mechanic however as it's not very clear to me when I should be hitting the button. For reference, I've beaten most of the souls games, Niohs, and Sekiro and I'm getting absolutely bodied sometimes for failed parries at normal difficulty in this game haha. Easy mode difficulty felt way too easy however, so I need to experiment a bit.
I've been watching a friend play through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and I decided that I should get in on the fun and buy it. Will be playing it tonight. Looks really fun.
Speaking of great turn based games - can't recommended this series and brand new bundle enough!! So thankful Jake brought the series into the modern age.

2 tips that helped me (I'm just about finished the game): focus on sound queues instead of visual - usually an enemy will make a pretty distinct sound before each hit in a combo. And use dodge instead of parry, at least until you are more comfortable with the timing of it - dodge timing is a lot more forgiving.

I'm also finding that it gets easier with practice (which is no surprise) so I've been going and hitting a flag, resting, then running back and beating up on the same enemies 2-4 times, to really cement their moves in my head and get a feel for the dodge/parry mechanics vs the fast/slow attacks.
Another Clair Obscur tip I'm finding helpful is using your "F" attack in the overworld. You can use it to stun enemies to sneak past them...but you can also use it the second before they attack you, to stun them...going into combat, so you always get a First Attack against them. Can do significant damage that way before they even get a chance to start fighting.
